NBA Champion Luc Longley and WNBA Champion Lauren Jackson Headline NBA on Prime’s Floating Court Launch on Sydney Harbour – Prime Video today launched its inaugural season of NBA on Prime, taking to Sydney Harbour on a bespoke floating basketball court dropped in front of an iconic Australian backdrop.
Three-time NBA Champion Luc Longley and two-time WNBA Champion and five-time Olympic medalist Lauren Jackson were in attendance, alongside hundreds of NBA and WNBA fans who were given the chance to rub shoulders with the Australian basketball legends ahead of the opening NBA on Prime fixtures.
Two hundred guests got to make a splash on the Harbour, shooting hoops on the pop-up court along with other immersive experiences to celebrate the launch.
NBA on Prime tips off with a doubleheader on Saturday, October 25 at 10:30 a.m. AEDT when the New York Knicks host the Boston Celtics, followed by the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Los Angeles Lakers at 1:00 p.m. AEDT, with live NBA on Prime pregame coverage beginning at 10:00 a.m. AEDT.
“The leagues are drawing kids through, people are investing in infrastructure for juniors and so the talent rises through that system,”
– said Longley.
“I love the way that the Aussies are playing in the NBA. They are representing us so well. Watching the NBA is now so much more accessible, and with a service like Prime Video, it’s live and simple.”
“This landmark 11-year NBA partnership opens an exciting chapter for Prime Video in Australia and New Zealand,”
– said Alexandra Gilbert, head of content, Prime Video Australia & New Zealand.
“With basketball’s strong local following, bringing 67 regular-season games to our customers demonstrates Prime Video’s commitment to premium sports content that resonates with Australians and supports basketball’s growth across our communities.”

Included in their membership at no extra cost, Prime members in Australia will receive exclusive coverage of 67 regular-season NBA games, including all seven games from the Knockout Rounds of the Emirates NBA Cup, every game of the postseason SoFi NBA Play-In Tournament as well as first and second round games of the NBA Playoffs.
Regular and postseason WNBA games will begin in 2026 on Prime Video. NBA League Pass is available as an add-on subscription from $24.99 a month, meaning fans stream every game live or on-demand via Prime Video.
Coverage will begin 30 minutes before every game with the NBA on Prime pregame show, live from Amazon Studios in Culver City.
Every game night will be followed by NBA Nightcap, a one-hour postgame show featuring player interviews and in-depth analysis of the game. In between doubleheaders, Prime will bridge games with The Crossover, continuing live coverage from the NBA on Prime studio.
NBA on Prime studio coverage will be hosted by Taylor Rooks alongside analysts and NBA legends Dirk Nowitzki, Blake Griffin and Udonis Haslem. Dwyane Wade, Steve Nash and Candace Parker will also appear in the studio throughout the 2025-26 season, alternating with broadcast booth assignments.
NBA on Prime’s season coverage will include a suite of interactive features and AI-powered broadcast enhancements, offering new levels of personalisation and engagement for fans. NBA on Prime will also debut an all new fully-customisable Multiview feature, AI-driven highlights on demand, live stats, and more.

Fully-Customisable Multiview
Prime Sports’ fully-customisable Multiview feature puts control directly in fans’ hands, allowing viewers who subscribe to Prime Video and NBA League Pass to simultaneously watch a combination of NBA on Prime and NBA League Pass games across mobile devices, and select Fire TVs and Apple TVs.
Unlike traditional offerings, fans are no longer restricted to pre-configured game combinations or limited device options. Fans can further create their ideal viewing setup by selecting their primary game for the larger window while keeping tabs on other NBA matchups in smaller windows, ensuring they never miss a critical moment of action.
Rapid Recap
Rapid Recap provides a curated highlight reel that brings fans who join a game late up to speed in two minutes or less, ensuring they never miss a moment. Rapid Recap employs AI to compile the most impactful basketball moments for the viewer and seamlessly transitions them into live action once the recap concludes.
Stats
Stats provides fans with an easy, intuitive way to check player and team stats throughout the game. Fans can access traditional box score stats, along with advanced stats powered by AWS, all in real-time without ever leaving the live game.
Native High Dynamic Range (HDR) Productions with Proprietary Ultra-Low Latency Tech
All NBA on Prime broadcasts are produced in native 1080p High Dynamic Range (HDR) video and 5.1 surround sound, delivering a next-level viewing experience for fans with vivid pictures and pristine audio. Additionally, Prime Video and AWS technology combine to create a proprietary, end-to-end livestreaming solution that delivers ultra-low latency, eliminates drift and ensures synchronisation.
Prime Video’s presentations feature exceptional quality from the arena to the screen, with delivery speeds matching and often exceeding the typical cable and broadcast network experience.
