Adelaide Invitational set to ignite athletics season on 7plus Sport – World class athletics returns to Australia, only on 7plus Sport.
The Seven Network is set to welcome the stars of Australian athletics back to its screens, as the local athletics season ramps up with the Adelaide Invitational tomorrow, 14 March, live, free and exclusive to7plus Sport.
Australia’s best athletes, including Olympians, Paralympians and World Championships representatives, will be taking to the track at the SA Athletics Stadium with all the action on Saturday on 7plus Sport from 7.00pm AEDT.
The Adelaide Invitational lineup is star studded, highlighted by Paris 2024 Olympic Bronze medallist Matt Denny, who will be looking to break more records following a historic 2024 event which saw him win a national title in the men’s discus throw.
Denny will be joined by reigning Australian champion and Olympic 800m runner Abbey Caldwell, who is ready to chase her third consecutive Adelaide Invitational victory.
Caldwell will be looking to find her groove in the lead up to the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Other big names competing in the event will be Adelaide local Aidan Murphy and top fancy Jacory Patterson, who will battle it out in the Golden North Men’s 200m event on Saturday night.
The Adelaide Invitational will include a host of marquee track and field events, including pole vault, discus throw, 100m, 200m, long jump and many others, with the event acting as a perfect prelude to marquee athletics events in the coming months including the Maurie Plant Meet, the Stawell Gift and the iconic Commonwealth Games.

Following the Adelaide Invitational, Seven will be home to iconic events on the Australian athletics calendar including the Maurie Plant Meet on Saturday, 28 March, the Stawell Gift on Monday, 6 April and the 2026 Australian Athletics Championships on Friday, 10 April to Sunday, 12 April.
