TOTAL TV – Total People
Seven News was #1 with 1,304 000 viewers, a rise of 2%. Seven News at 6:30 was #2 with 1,238 000, an upswing of 2%. Seven’s Cricket: Second Test – Australia v South Africa Day 3 Tea was #3 with 982 000. Due to Seven not having BVOD rights for 7plus, there was no uptick in Total TV. Seven’s Cricket: Second Test – Australia v South Africa Day 3 Session 2 was #6 with 899 000. Seven’s Cricket: Second Test – Australia v South Africa Day 3 Session 3 was #7 with 898 000. Seven’s Cricket: Second Test – Australia v South Africa Day 3 Session 1 was #9 with 739 000. The Chase Australia was #11 with 703 000, a lift of 2%. Seven’s Cricket: Second Test – Australia v South Africa Day 3 Lunch was #12 with 673 000. Seven’s Cricket: Big Bash League – Sydney Sixers v Melbourne Renegades was #15 with 503 000. Sunrise was #18 with 381 000, an increase of 4%. Seven’s Cricket: Second Test – Australia v South Africa Day 3 Pre Game was #21 with 348 000. The Chase Australia – 5pm was #28 with 235 000, a boost of 4%. Sunrise – Extended was #30 with 221 000, growth of 4%.
Nine News was #4 with 958 000, strengthening its overnights by 4%. Nine News 6:30 was #5 with 918 000, bolstering its audience by 4%. A Current Affair was #8 with 841 000, an upsurge of 4%. Country Home Rescue with Shaynna Blaze was #13 with 520 000, an improvement of 17%. Hot Seat was #14 with 506 000, expanding its viewership by 3%. Nine’s Afternoon News was #19 with 361 000, an enhancement of 3%. Tipping Point was #20 with 353 000, an uplift of 7%. Hot Seat – 5pm was #23 with 339 000, up 3%. Dream Listing Byron Bay was #25 with 284 000, a rise of 10%. Today was #26 with 246 000, an upswing of 6%.
10 News First was #22 with 342 000, a lift if 2%. The movie, Star Trek Into Darkness was #29 with 226 000, an increase of 6%.
ABC News was #10 with 729 000, a boost of 3%. A repeat of Hard Quiz: Battle of the Has Beens was #16 with 464 000, growth of 7%. A repeat of Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery was #17 with 434 000, strengthening its overnights by 3%. A repeat of Spicks and Specks was #24 with 328 000, bolstering its audience by 5%. A repeat of Utopia was #27 with 245 000, an upsurge of 13%.
TOTAL TV – 25-54
Seven took control of this demographic with its combination of News, The Chase Australia and Cricket taking positions #1 through to #8. Dream Listing Byron Bay might have sat at #25 in Total People, but it was #17 in 25-54 with 96 000, an improvement of 10%.
OVERNIGHT RATINGS
Analysis
Seven News was #1 with wins in Sydney, Adelaide and Perth. Seven News at 6:30 was #2 with wins in the same markets. Seven’s Cricket: Third Test: Australia v South Africa Day 1 Session 2 was #7 with 390 000. Seven’s Cricket: Big Bash League – Sydney Sixers v Brisbane Heat was #8 with 340 000. Seven’s Cricket: Third Test: Australia v South Africa Day 1 Lunch was #9 with 335 000. Seven’s Cricket: Third Test: Australia v South Africa Day 1 Session 1 was #10 with 329 000. Seven’s Cricket: Third Test: Australia v South Africa Day 1 Tea was #12 with 309 000. Seven’s Cricket: Third Test: Australia v South Africa Day 1 Session 3 was #13 with 302 000. Seven’s Cricket: Big Bash League – Perth v Sydney Thunder was #16 with 248 000.
Nine News 6:30 was #4 and had wins in Melbourne and Brisbane. Nine News was #4 with wins in the same markets. A Current Affair was #6, but fell behind ABC News to be #2 in the slot with 521 000. Escape to the Chateau was #17 with 246 000. Dream Listing Byron Bay had 135 000. This was the season final for Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Sydney and Brisbane were 1 episode behind, so this was episode 7 of 8. The final episode is yet to be scheduled for these two markets. Not sure why Nine did not screen a double of Dream Listing Byron Bay at 9:30 for Sydney and Melbourne, but instead the network got Secrets of the Superyachts, which was watched by 101 000. The season final (and yet to be renewed) of Family Law aired around 10:30pm to 47 000 viewers.
With The Project having a week off, 10 aired a repeat of The Dog House Australia at 6:30pm with 158 000 viewers. The movie, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was #20 with 206 000. The movie, Angel Has Fallen was watched by 87 000.
ABC News was #5, but #1 in its slot. A repeat of Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery was #14 with 301 000. A repeat of Spicks and Specks was #19 with 224 000. A repeat of QI was #21 with 201 000. A repeat of Utopia had an audience of 135 000. Mariam’s Big Fat Adventure Part 2 of 2 had 77 000 viewers.
