Analysis
It was Seven on top in network shares and Nine on top in primary channel shares.
Seven News was a winner across the network and in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Seven lost Sydney by just 2 000 viewers. Home and Away did well with all three episodes cracking the 400 000 viewer mark, with expected 20%+ gains next week in Total TV. Kath and Kim returned to Seven and went all the way back to the beginning with the first 4 episodes (183 000, 142 000, 131 000 and 109 000). The network win was helped by strong performances by McDonald & Dodds and Father Brown on 7two and the movie Deadpool on 7mate.
Nine News won by a slight margin in Sydney and cleaned up in Brisbane. A Current Affair was second in the 7pm slot (only just missing out to ABC News) on 556 000. RBT had 420 000 across the network and Paramedics began a new season with 339 000. This all tallied to a 2 point primary channel win over Seven.
The Amazing Race Australia has been racing through a number of episodes this week with last night’s episode doing 292 000. The show was particularly strong in Melbourne eclipsing the 100 000 viewer mark. Gogglebox Australia recovered from last week’s Eastern State’s late slot to have 441 000 viewers.
Foreign Correspondent had 323 000 viewers last night, whilst Q+A managed a modest 202 000.
