OVERNIGHT RATINGS

Analysis

Seven

Seven News was #1 in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth and had a tie in Sydney. Seven News at 6:30 was #2 with wins in all markets. Home and Away was #7 with 430 000 viewers. Seven’s Cricket: Big Bash League – Perth v Hobart had 229 000 fans watching.

Nine

Nine News was #3 and had a tie in Sydney with each channel recording 193 000 viewers. Nine News 6:30 was #4 with 657 000 and had no wins in the 5 city metro markets. The 2023 Australian Open Day 3 – Night had 408 000 viewers and sat at #8. The 2023 Australian Open Day 3 – Night Session 2 was #10 with 350 000. The 2023 Australian Open Day 3 – Night Pre Match recorded 266 000 viewers for Sydney and Melbourne only.

10

The Project 6:30 recorded 174 000. The Project moved to 240 000 at 7pm. The Bachelors Australia was #12 with 274 000 viewers, but is expected to climb significantly in Total TV. The show was #1 in 16-39 for the night. My favourite new US drama, Fire Country had 101 000. A repeat of Bull had 76 000 viewers.

ABC

ABC News was #5 overall, but #1 in its slot. 730 Summer was #9 with 396 000. A repeat of QI was #15 with 245 000. A repeat of Spicks and Specks could only manage #20 with 215 000. A repeat of Utopia had 145 000 viewers.

Multi Channels

Winner: 7mate (4.1%)

Second: 7two / 9Gem (4.0%)

7mate has claimed the #1 position with double repeats of Highway Patrol and Highway Cops. It should be noted that the BBL coverage is played in full in the Perth market and had a local team playing, which would have added to the overall 7mate share. 7two tied for #2 thanks to Bargain Hunt, Heartbeat and Lewis. 9Gem was equal #2 with its second channel coverage of the 2023 Australian Open Day 3 – Night.
