TOTAL TV – Total People
Seven News was #1 with 1,248 000, a rise of 3%. Seven News at 6:30 was #2 with 1,224 000, an upswing of 3%. The Chase Australia was #8 with 694 000, a lift of 3%. Better Homes and Gardens Summer was #11 with 544 000, an increase of 4%. The Chase Australia – 5pm was #14 with 429 000, a boost of 3%. Sunrise was #16 overall, but #1 at breakfast with 384 000, growth of 4%. Seven News at 4:30 was #26 with 298 000, strengthening its overnights by 2%. Seven News at 4 was #28 with 274 000, bolstering its audience by 2%. Sunrise – Early was #30 with 265 000, an upsurge of 5%.
Nine News 6:30 was #3 with 946 000, an improvement of 4% on its overnight audience. Nine News was #4 with 924 000, expanding its audience by 4%. A Current Affair was #5 overall, but #1 in its slot with 845 000, an enhancement of 6%. Country Home Rescue with Shaynna Blaze was #10 with 573 000, an uplift of 21%. Hot Seat was #12 with 497 000, up 3%. Tipping Point was #15 with 391 000, a rise of 5%. Love Island Australia was #17 with 382 000, an upswing of 526%. Nine’s Afternoon News was #19 with 365 000, a lift of 3%. Dream Listing: Byron Bay was #21 with 338 000, an increase of 7%. Hot Seat – 5pm was #22 with 326 000, a boost of 3%. Today was #25 with 310 000, growth of 7%.
The Project 7pm was #18 with 366 000, strengthening its overnights by 5%. 10 News First was #20 with 339 000, bolstering its audience by 2%. The 2022 AACTA Awards was #27 with 295 000, an upsurge of 4%. The Project 6:30pm was #29 with 269 000, an improvement of 5%.
ABC News was #6 with 841 000m expanding its audience by 3%. 730 was right behind at #7 with 766 000, an enhancement of 5%. A repeat of Hard Quiz: Kids Special was #9 with 590 000, an uplift of 5%. The special, Wil Anderson: Wilogical was #13 with 492 000, up 21%. An encore (from ABC TV Plus) of Would I Lie to You was #24 with 317 000, a rise of 13%.
2022 FIFA World Cup: Portugal v Switzerland was #23 for SBS with 324 000, an upswing of 62%.
TOTAL TV – 25-54
What a difference total people vs a demo can show. In 25-54, Love Island Australia became the #1 show non news, landing #5 for the night. The show had 208 000 viewers, a lift of 700%. Country Home Rescue with Shaynna Blaze was #6 overall, but #2 non news with 196 000, an increase of 35%. Sunrise was #1 at breakfast but was in front of Today by just 6000 viewers.
OVERNIGHT RATINGS
Analysis
Seven News was #1 with wins in Sydney, Adelaide and Perth. Seven News at 6:30 was #2 with wins in the same markets. Sven’s Cricket: Big Bash League: Adelaide Strikers v Sydney Sixers was #13 with 287 000 viewers.
Nine News was #3 with wins in Melbourne and Brisbane. Nine News 6:30 was #4 with wins in those same markets. A Current Affair was #6 overall, but #2 in it slot with 540 000. 2022 FINA World Short Course Championships had 216 000 for its live coverage on Nine, but also mixed with 9Gem in some markets. Nine News Late had 74 000 viewers. Family law had just 30 000 viewers late night.
The Project 6:30 had 154 000 but that rose to 238 000 for The Project 7pm to land at #17. A repeat of The Dog House was #18 with 237 000. The three part mini series vent continued with night 2 on 158 000, dropping from night 1. A repeat of Bull followed with 120 000. A second late night Bull repeat had 98 000.
ABC News was #5 for the night but #1 in its slot. 730 was #7 with 525 000. A repeat of Hard Quiz: Celebrity Special was #8 overall but #1 non news show overall with 460 000 viewers. A brand new QI Christmas special was #12 with 322 000. A repeat QI followed with 266 000. Would I Lie to You: The Best Bits was #19 with 232 000. An encore of Adam Hills: The Last Leg had 124 000 viewers.
2022 FIFA World Cup Semi Final: Team 57 v Team 58 was #10 with 324 000, likely to get a substantial bump next week in Total TV.
