Seven News was #1 for the night with a reach lead of 118 000 and an average audience lead of 57 000 over 9News. Home and Away was #9 with 1 227 000 (852 000). Britain’s Got Talent was #7 with 1 355 000 (410 000). The second last The Good Doctor was #33 with 519 000 (248 000).

Nine

9News was #2 for the night. A Current Affair was #4 with 1 616 000 (1 073 000). Beyond the Dream – Matildas: The Rise was #8 with 1 241 000 (504 000). The special – Jess Fox: Whitewater was #26 with 607 000 (262 000). The special Saya Sakakibara: Ride to Redemption was #39 with 427 000 (138 000).

The Project was #12 with 1 111 000 (380 000). MasterChef Australia – Grand Finale was #4 with 1 779 000 (985 000). The Cheap Seats was #13 with 1 079 000 (461 000). A repeat of NCIS was #27 with 592 000 (108 000).

ABC

ABC News was #11 for the night. 730 was #10 with 1 206 000 (736 000). I Was Actually There was #15 with 888 000 (605 000). Maggie Beer’s Big Mission was #17 with 752 000 (393 000). The Art Of… was #47 with 377 000 (156 000).

  • 9News was the No. 1 program with Total People across the 5 City Metro and in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The combined bulletins recorded a National Total TV Reach of  2.050 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.328 million – up 20.7% year-on-year. On 9Now, its BVOD audience of 102,000 was up 78.9% year-on-year.
  • Today was the No.1 breakfast program with Total People across the 5 City Metro and in Melbourne and Brisbane. It secured a National Total TV Reach of 863,000 and a Total TV National Audience of 342,000. Its BVOD audience was 38,000 – up 46.2% year-on-year.
  • Tipping Point was Australia’s No. 1 afternoon game show with Total People across Australia. It recorded a National Total TV Reach of 1.492 million and a Total TV National Audience of 773,000, lifting the timeslot by 56.5% when compared to the same day last year.
  • Beyond the Dream: Matildas: The Rise registered a National Total TV Reach of 1.241 million, a Total TV National Audience of 504,000 and a BVOD audience of 46,000.
  • A Current Affair won the 7.00pm timeslot with Total People across Australia. It registered a National Total TV Reach of 1.616 million and a Total TV National Audience of  1.073 million – up 14.3% on the same night last year. It secured a BVOD audience of 76,000 – up 58.3% year-on-year.

Seven tops on Tuesday, 7NEWS #1 program

·       Seven #1 nationally in total TV

·       National total TV audience share: 36%

MasterChef Grand Finale Reaches 1.78 Million.

Up 4% On 2023 And #1 Show In 25 To 54s And 16 To 39s.

Last night, fans and foodies were on the edge of their seats watching our two Grand Finalists go head-to-head for the title of MasterChef Australia 2024 with #MasterChefAU trending #1 across the nation.

In round one, both cooks featured the key ingredient of black peppercorns in very different and delicious dishes. Then, they took on an epic Clare Smyth pressure test, the ‘Core-teser’, as the final challenge to see which cook would hold up the trophy and take out the win! 

Victorian barista, Nat Thaipun, was named the winner of MasterChef Australia 2024, taking home $250,000 and a residency at Crown Melbourne’s ALUMNI restaurant.

MasterChef Australia – Grand Finale:

  • 1.78 million total national viewers reached.
  • Up 4% on 2023 finale!
  • Up 48% week-on-week.
  • #1 show in 25 to 54s and 16 to 39s.
  • #1 in its timeslot with 40.5% commercial share in total people.
  • Outstanding shares in key demos with 50.6% in 16 to 39s and 46.3% in 25 to 54s.
  • Biggest ever live stream audience for MasterChef!
  • 60,000 live stream viewers, up 58% on the same episode last year.

Then on The Cheap Seats hosts Melanie Bracewell and Tim McDonald had a fun look at the week that was with Mel Tracina, Ben Lomas and Miguel Maestre also joining the show.  

The Cheap Seats:

  • 1.08 million total national viewers reached.
  • Up 6% week-on-week.
  • #2 entertainment show in 25 to 54s.
  • #1 in its timeslot with the highest commercial share of the season with 34.4% in total people.
  • Whopping shares in key demos with 52.4% in 16 to 39s and 48.5% in 25 to 54s.
  • Season to-date: 574,000 national total audience average, up 6% on 2023 average.
  • Season-to-date: Biggest ever BVOD audiences ever (42,000), up 31% on 2023 average.

The popular programming across 10 last night made it the #1 network with a 34.5% share in total people.

There were week-on-week lifts across the entire network with standout stats for:

  • Network 10 (10, 10 Bold Drama, 10 Peach Comedy, Nickelodeon) up 48%, and
  • 10 up 68%.

Last night, The Project was also up 28% week-on-week, 10 News First was up 6% week-on-week and 17% year-on-year, and Deal or No Deal lifted 10’s timeslot 15% compared to the same night last year.

Last week (Tuesday, 9 July), with 7 day viewing:

  • MasterChef Australia reached 1.39 million total national viewers.
  • The Cheap Seats reached 1.09 million total national viewers.
