Analysis for Total TV (1 November, 2022) and Overnight (8 November, 2022) ratings.
TOTAL TV
Seven News was the #1 program overall in the Total TV audience report for last Tuesday with a 3% uplift and 1,426 000 viewers. Seven News at 6:30 was also up 3% and sat at 1,400 000 for the #2 position. Home and Away was third in overnights for its slot but rose to #1 in Total TV with 905 000 viewers, a rise of 21%. Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly rose 8% for a final 7 day viewership of 595 000. The Good Doctor rose 41% to 472 000. Earlier in the day, The Chase Australia – 5pm had 436 000 viewers, an uplift of 4%. The Chase Australia 5:30pm half hour was #11 overall with an impressive 777 000, up 3%. Sunrise increased by 5% to 380 000.
Nine News was up 4% to 1,073 000, whilst Nine News 6:30 was also up 4% to 1,068 000. A Current Affair was second in its slot at 875 000, up 5%. A repeat of Travel Guides filled the 7:30pm slot with 670 000 viewers, a rise of 7%. Hot Seat was at #20 with 508 000 viewers, an increase of 4%. Tipping Point was up 6% to 355 000. Nine’s Afternoon News had 390 000 viewers, up 3%. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 match between England and New Zealand had 345 000 viewers, up 4%.
The Melbourne Cup Carnival was a winner for 10 with the Lexus Melbourne Cup presentation on 1,244 000, up 7%. The Mounting Yard component was on 1, 065 000, up 9%, the Preview section was on 661 000, up 7%, the Late portion on 580 000, up 5% and the Early component on 350 000, up 6%.
In prime time, The Traitors actually sat pretty well on 515 000 viewers, up 27%. The Cheap Seats rose 17% to 511 000. 10 News First got a boost from the Melbourne Cup with 464 000, up 3% as did The Project 6:30pm which had 365 000 viewers, up 4% and the 7pm section on 485 000, up 4%.
ABC News remained the #1 show for the national broadcaster on 868 000 viewers, up 4%. Stuff the British Stole did well at #10 with 781 000, up 25%. Magda’s Big National Health Check had 726 000 viewers and placed #13 for the evening, an increase of 27%. 730 had 753 000 news watchers, which was an increase of 5%.
OVERNIGHT RATINGS

Analysis 
Seven News was #1 overall in the 5 city metro overnight ratings and had wins in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Seven News at 6:30 was #2 for the night with the same capital city wins as the 6pm component. Home and Away was #9 for the night, but also #1 non news in prime time. Kitchen Nightmares Australia had 390 000 viewers to land at #13. The Good Doctor had 205 000 viewers with 10 Years Younger in 10 Days UK on 99 000, post 9:30pm. The Latest: Seven News was on 95 000.
Nine News 6:30 was #3 overall, with Nine News at #4 and both had wins in Brisbane. A Current Affair won its slot with 612 000 viewers. My Mum Your Dad improved on its Monday numbers without This is Your Life as competition for 413 000 viewers. Travel Guides (repeat) was on 267 000 with Botched on 115 000. Nine News Late had 72 000 viewers.
The Project 6:30 started with 221 000, but that figure rose to 331 000 at 7pm. A repeat of The Dog House Australia was watched by 293 000. The Cheap Seats was #15 for the night with 324 000. NCIS had 152 000 and then had 97 000 for its late repeat.
ABC News was second in its slot behind ACA with 563 000 and 730 followed with 486 000. Stuff the British Stole is doing good business for the ABC with 428 000. Magda’s Big National Health Check was #12 for the night at 393 000.
