Seven News was #1 for the night with a reach lead of 405 000 and an average audience lead of 260 000 over 9News. Home and Away was #7 with 1 185 000 (816 000). Highway Patrol was #12 with 930 000 (567 000). A second new episode of Highway Patrol was #16 with 814 000 (544 000). Australia’s Most Dangerous Prisoners was #20 with 718 000 (291 000). The repeat special, Why Planes Vanish: The Hunt for MH370 was #43 with 371 000 (130 000).

Nine

9News was #2 for the night. A Current Affair was #4 with 1 394 000 (874 000). RPA was #5 with 1 338 000 (555 000). Emergency was #14 with 910 000 (483 000). A+E After Dark was #23 with 664 000 (296 000).

ABC News was #8 for the night. 730 was #6 with 1 228 000 (788 000). Grand Designs Australia was #11 with 1 016 000 (539 000). Long Lost Family was #22 with 684 000 (312 000). A repeat of Fake or Fortune was #41 with 380 000 (146 000).

SBS

SBS World News was on 291 000 (181 000). SBS World News 7pm was on 259 000 (125 000). Platoon was #35 with 425 000 (106 000). World’s Most Punctual Train was #44 with 352 000 (124 000). Going Places with Ernie Dingo was #45 with 347 000 (107 000).

  • 9News was the No. 1 program of the night with Total People in Brisbane. It was also the No. 1 news service with the key demographic of People 25-54 in Melbourne and Brisbane. It recorded a National Total TV Reach of 1.693 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.024 million – up 7.9% on the same night last year. On 9Now, its BVOD audience of 85,000 was up 60.4% year-on-year.
  • Love Island secured a BVOD audience of 109,000 on 9Now – up 13.5% year-on-year.
  • Melbourne Cup Carnival – Oaks Day registered a National Total TV Reach of 1.046 million, a Total TV National Audience of 264,000, up 136.0% year-on-year and a BVOD audience of 24,000, up 375.0% year-on-year
  • A Current Affair dominated the 7.00pm timeslot with Total People across Australia and in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. It achieved a National Total TV Reach of 1.394 million and a Total TV National Audience of 874,000. On 9Now, its BVOD audience of 67,000, up 48.9% year-on-year.
  • RPA recorded a National Total TV Reach of 1.338 million, a Total TV National Audience of 555,000 and a BVOD audience of 42,000.
  • Emergency registered a National Total TV Reach of 910,000 and a Total TV National Audience of 483,000. On 9Now, its BVOD audience was 31,000.
  • Today was the No.1 breakfast program with Total People in Melbourne and Brisbane. It achieved a National Total TV Reach of 911,000 and a Total TV National Audience of 352,000 – up 1.4% year-on-year. Its BVOD audience was 44,000 – up 57.1% on the same morning last year.
  • The 9Network was the No. 1 network across the 5 City Metro on Thursday with Total People and all key demographics. 

9Now was the No. 1 CFTA BVOD platform on Thursday with Total People and all key demographics.

On Top Gear last night, Beau, Blair and Jonathan travelled to Texas to test electric trucks and asked if Australia is ready for them. JLP took a Porsche GT3 RS for a power test, and former politician Julie Bishop took a hot lap.

  • Up 74% in 16 to 39s, 53% in under 50s and 37% in 25 to 54s week-on-week.
