Analysis for Total TV (11 December, 2022) and Overnight (18 December, 2022) ratings.

TOTAL TV – Total People

Seven News – Sunday was #1 with 1,187 000 viewers, a rise of 2%. Seven’s Cricket: Second Test – Australia v West Indies Day 4 Session 1 was on 598 000. Due to Seven not having BVOD rights for 7plus, there was no uptick in Total TV. 7NEWS Spotlight was #9 with 519 000, an upswing of 3%. Seven News at 5 was #12 with 415 000, a lift of 1%. Weekend Sunrise – Sunday was #16 with 333 000, an increase of 3%. Seven’s Cricket: Second Test: Australia v West Indies Day 4 Pre Game was #20 with 279 000. Dog Patrol was #24 with 262 000, a boost of 3%. Weekend Sunrise – Sunday Early was #26 with 235 000, growth of 4%.

Nine News Sunday was #2 with 974 000, strengthening its overnights by 3%. Snackmasters was #6 with 647 000, bolstering its audience by 7%. 60 Minutes – Summer was #7 with 620 000, an upsurge of 7%. Nine News Late – Sunday was #13 with 408 000, an improvement of 3%. Nine News: First at Five was #19 with 291 000, expanding its viewership by 3%. The First 48 was #27 with 233 000, an enhancement of 11%. Weekend Today – Sunday was #29 with 227 000, an uplift of 6%. RBT was at #30 with 223 000, up 4%.

The Sunday Project 7pm was #14 with 374 000, a rise of 3%. 10 News First Sunday was #15 with 343 000, an upswing of 2%. The Graham Norton Show was #18 with 312 000, a lift of 8%. The Sunday Project 6:30pm was #22 with 262 000, an increase of 4%. 10 News First Sunday 6pm was #23 with 262 000, a boost of 2%.

A repeat of Death in Paradise was #4 with 748 000, growth of 6%. ABC News Sunday was #5 with 704 000, strengthening its overnights by 3%. The movie, The Post was #10 with 507 000, bolstering its audience by 19%. A repeat of The ABC Of was #17 with 317 000, an upsurge of 5%. Antiques Roadshow was #21 with 262 000, an improvement of 4%. ABC News at Noon was #28 with 231 000, expanding its viewership by 2%.

2022 FIFA World Cup Quarter Final: England v France (Live) was #3 for SBS with 831 000, an enhancement of 60%. 200 FIFA World Cup Quarter Final: England v France Post Match was #11 with 420 000, an uplift of 36%. 2022 FIFA World Cup Quarter FInal: Morocco v Portugal (Live) was #25 with 243 000, up 170%.

TOTAL TV – 25-54

The 2022 FIFA World Cup Quarter Final: England v France (Live) was #1 with 442 000, a rise of 83%. Snackmasters was #3 with 264 000, an upswing of 11%. The Sunday Project 7pm was #8 with 166 000, a lift of 4%. Paramount+ showed a sneak peek of Tulsa King on 10 at #23 with 81 000 viewers, an increase of 7%.

OVERNIGHT RATINGS


Analysis

Seven News – Sunday was #1 with big wins in all five metro markets. Seven’s Cricket: First Test – Australia v South Africa Day 2 Session 3 was #2 with 684 000 viewers. Seven’s Cricket: First Test – Australia v South Africa Day 2 Tea was #4 with 571 000. Seven’s Cricket: First Test – Australia v South Africa Day 2 Session 2 was #5 with 566 000. Seven’s Cricket: First Test – Australia v South Africa Day 2 Lunch was #7 with 394 000. Seven’s Cricket: First Test – Australia v South Africa Day 2 Session 1 was #9 with 388 000. Seven’s Cricket: Big Bash League – Melbourne Renegades v Sydney Thunder was #10 with 338 000. Seven’s Cricket: Big Bash League – Melbourne Renegades v Sydney Thunder Post Game was #17 with 207 000. Seven’s Cricket: First Test – Australia v South Africa Day 2 Pre Game was #20 with 174 000. 7NEWS Spotlight had 102 000 viewers with the summer series program screening at 7pm in Perth, 10pm in Brisbane, 10:30pm in Adelaide and 11pm in Sydney and Melbourne.

Nine News Sunday was #3 with no metro wins. Snackmasters was #11 with 321 000 viewers for its semi final episode. 60 Minutes – Summer was #12 with 267 000. A repeat of Under Investigation with Liz Hayes had an audience of 141 000. The First 48 had 71 000 viewers. Manhunt: The Railway Murders Part 3 season final was on 52 000.

The Sunday Project 6:30pm was on 164 000. The Sunday Project 7pm improved on that audience with 222 000. The final Graham Norton Show for the year was on 208 000. The movie, Top Gun aired on 10 with 170 000 viewers.

A repeat of Death in Paradise was #8 with 393 000. The movie, Jackie was #19 with 175 000 viewers.

2022 FIFA World Cup Final – France v Argentina (Live) was watched by 246 000 fans on SBS.

Second: 9GO! (4.4%)

2022 FINA World Course Championships aired on 9Gem instead of the main channel and the multi channel was rewarded with a huge 5.2% share. That share was assisted by another Bold film, this time Nine moving into the Pierce Bronson era with Goldeneye.

9GO!’s big share was as a result of Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw on 95 000 and Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch on 79 000 viewers.

  • 9Gem was the No.1 multi channel with Total People and 9GO! was the No.1 multi channel with People 25-54 and GS+Child 
  • Snackmasters was Australia’s No.1 non-sports entertainment program with all key demos
  • Snackmasters won its timeslot with People 25-54 across the 5 City Metro and in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth and with People 16-39 in Adelaide
  • Snackmasters recorded a Live + VOD BVOD Audience of 20,000
  • 60 Minutes – Summer Series won its timeslot with Total People in Melbourne and Perth
  • 60 Minutes – Summer Series recorded a Live + VOD BVOD Audience of 15,000

9News was a timeslot winner with GS+Child in Brisbane
