Seven News was #1 for the night with a reach lead of 395 000 and an average audience lead of 213 000 over 9News. Home and Away was #6 with 1 455 000 (900 000). Dream Home was #7 with 1 448 000 (661 000). The special, 10 Years of the Big Freeze was #28 with 643 000 (214 000). 911 was #37 with 252 000 (252 000).

Nine

9News was #2 for the night. A Current Affair was #5 with 1 708 000 (1 151 000). 2024 Australian Swimming Trials – Finals – Day 1 was #3 with 1 846 000 (687 000). 100% Footy was #32 with 599 000 (201 000). Footy Classified was #39 with 451 000 (160 000). 9News Late was #48 with 352 000 (211 000).

The Project was #17 with 979 000 (393 000). MasterChef Australia was #8 with 1 424 000 000 (716 000). Have You Been Paying Attention was #11 with 1 297 000 (746 000). The special, Rove McManus – Loosey Goosey was #33 with 595 000 (164 000).

ABC News was #10 for the night. Australian Story was #15 with 1 049 000 (758 000). Four Corners was #13 with 1 070 000 (688 000). Media Watch was #19 with 792 000 (651 000). An encore of Gruen was #21 with 786 000 (280 000).

  • 9News was the No. 1 program with Total People in Sydney and Brisbane. It was also the No. 1 program and news service with People 25-54 across the 5 City Metro and in Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide. The combined national bulletins recorded a National Total TV Reach of 2.138 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.334 million (up 7.0% year-on-year). On 9Now, its BVOD audience of 90,000 was up 43.7% year-on-year.
  • A Current Affair won the 7.00pm timeslot with Total People across Australia and in the three largest markets of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. It registered a National Total TV Reach of 1.708 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.151 million – up 5.0% on the same night last year. It secured a BVOD audience of 74,000 – up 40.1% year-on-year.
  • The 2024 Australian Swimming Trials – Finals dominated its timeslot with Total People and all key demos in Sydney and Brisbane. It achieved a National Total TV Reach of 1.846 million and a Total TV National Audience of 687,000 and a BVOD audience of 50,000. 
  • Tipping Point was the No. 1 afternoon game show with Total People across Australia and in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. It recorded a National Total TV Reach of 1.421 million and a Total TV National Audience of 676,000 representing a 61.0% timeslot lift when compared to the same day last year.
  • Today was the No.1 breakfast program with Total People in Melbourne. It secured a National Total TV Reach of 720,000 and a Total TV National Audience of 271,000. Its BVOD audience was 28,000 – up 32.1% on the same morning last year.
  • The 9Network was the No.1 network across the 5 City Metro with all key demos and Total People

9Now was the No. 1 CFTA BVOD platform across Australia with People 16-39

MasterChef Australia was up 9% on the same episode in 2023, Have You Been Paying Attention? was up 16% week-on-week. Have You Been Paying Attention? dominated its timeslot by taking the biggest slice of the broadcast pie, solidifying itself as Australia’s favourite show after 8.30pm.

Sweet Week has arrived! Adriano Zumbo kicked things off with a wobbly jelly Mystery Box. Contestants vied to make a perfectly shaky sweet to win precious immunity.

MasterChef Australia:

  • 1.42 million total national viewers reached.
  • Up 9% compared to the same episode in 2023.
  • #1 entertainment show in 25 to 54s and 16 to 39s.
  • Last night’s live stream grows: 37,000 viewers, up 26% on the same episode last year.
  • Biggest BVOD season-to-date: 145,000, up 32% on 2023 average.

Last night, sell-out sensation Ray O’Leary made his season debut off the back of his award-nominated stand-up comedy tour, alongside returning friends, Anne Edmonds and Emma Holland. Quizmaster Tom Gleisner captained the show, with regular raconteurs, Ed Kavalee and Sam Pang.
