Analysis for Total TV (19 December, 2022) and Overnight (26 December, 2022) ratings.

TOTAL TV – Total People

Seven News at 6:30 was #1 with 1,330 000, a rise of 3%. Seven News was #2 with 1,323 000, an upswing of 3%. The Chase Australia was #9 with 677 000, a lift of 2%, Seven’s Cricket: Big Bash League – Hobart v Perth was #11 with 519 000. Due to Seven not having BVOD rights for 7plus, there was no uptick in Total TV. Sunrise was #14 with 427 000, an increase of 4%. The Chase Australia – 5pm was #15 with 407 000, a boost of 3%. Sunrise – Extended was #19 with 318 000, growth of 4%. Seven News at 4:30 was #24, strengthening its overnights by 2%. Seven News at 4 was #29 with 254 000, bolstering its audience by 2%.

Nine News 6:30 was #3 with 974 000, an upsurge 4%. Nine News was #4 with 932 000, an improvement of 4%. A Current Affair was #7 with 834 000, expanding its viewership by 5%. Snackmasters – Monday was #12 with 516 000, an enhancement of 10%. Hot Seat was #13 with 454 000, an uplift of 4%. Nine’s Afternoon News was #16 with 368 000, up 3%. Hot Seat – 5pm was #20 with 310 000, a rise of 4%. Inside the Superbrands was #22 with 301 000, an upswing of 7%. Today was #23 with 300 000, a lift of 6%. Love Island Australia – Monday was #28 with 256 000, an increase of 540%. A repeat of Tipping Point was #30 with 247 000, a boost of 5%.

The Project 7pm was #17 with 341 000, growth of 4%. 10 News First was #18 with 324 000, strengthening its overnights by 2%. A repeat of Bondi Rescue was #25 with 276 000, bolstering its audience by 3%. The Project 6:30pm was #27 with 264 000, an upsurge of 5%.

ABC News was #6 with 848 000, an improvement of 3%. 730 Summer was #8 with 780 000, an improvement of 5%. Australian Story: Summer Series was #10 with 596 000, expanding its viewership by 6%. A repeat of Brian Cox: Seven Days on Mars was #21 with 306 000, an enhancement of 8%.

2022 FIFA World Cup Final: France v Argentina (Live) was #5 for SBS with 863 000, an uplift of 83%. 2022 FIFA World Cup Final: France v Argentina Post Match was #26 with 274 000, up 84%.

TOTAL TV – 25-54

2022 FIFA World Cup Final: France v Argentina was #1 with 460 000, a rise of 102%. Snackmasters – Monday closed its season at #6 with 207 000, an upswing of 15%. Love Island Australia continues to do well with 146 000, landing at #13 with a lift of 484%.

OVERNIGHT RATINGS


Analysis

Seven News was #1 with a clean sweep in all markets. Seven News at 6:30 was #2, again with a clean sweep in all markets. Seven’s Cricket: Second Test – Australia v South Africa had various spots at #3, #4, #5, #6, #7 and #17. Seven’s Cricket: Big Bash League – Sydney Sixers v Melbourne Stars was #14 with 363 000. Seven’s Cricket: Big Bash League – Perth v Adelaide Strikers was #16 with 283 000.

Nine News was #8 with no victory in any market. Nine News 6:30 was #9 with 576 000, again with no wins in any market. A Current Affair was at #13 with 447 000. RBT was #15 with 306 000. A repeat of Paramedics was #18 with 253 000.

Doc Martin had a Christmas special on the ABC with 557 000, landing at #10. ABC News was #11 with 528 000. A Farewell Doc Martin special was #12 with 450 000.

7two was the multi channel champ thanks to a repeat of Doc Martin. 68 000 viewers were watching a classic episode at the same time as the ABC was airing the fast tracked brand new Christmas special. Inspector Morse also helped their share with 70 000 viewers. 7mate had Seven’s Cricket: Big Bash League – Sydney Sixers v Melbourne Stars at 6pm, whilst Seven News was on the main channel, which helped it share.
