Hot Seat – 5pm (which is actually 4pm in Adelaide and 3pm in Perth) was #30 with 306 000, up 5%. Tipping Point, always a strong performer, was on 428 000 and was up 5%. Nine’s Afternoon News was #26 with 354 000 and was up 3%. Today was #27 for the day and had 329 000 viewers and saw its audience increase by 7%.

Analysis

Seven News was #1 for Seven with 943 000 viewers and a clean sweep in all markets. Seven News at 6:30 was #2 overall with 910 000 and have the double clean sweep. Home and Away had a triple episode 90 minute season final last night, which landed it at #11 with 440 000 viewers. 911 was #16 with 270 000 viewers, but that number is set to significantly rise next week in Total TV. S.W.A.T had 142 000 viewers. The Latest: Seven News was on 104 000. The already completed series on 7plus, Heartbreak Island Australia was watched by 33 000 fans.

Nine News 6:30 was #3 with 705 000 and could not claim a win in any market, but got within 1000 viewers in Brisbane/ Nine News was #4 with 658 000 and also could not manage a win. A Current Affair was #6 overall and #2 in its slot behind ABC News with 608 000. The season final of My Mum Your Dad was #12 with 404 000, but is expected to significantly rise in Total TV. No media release from Nine last night on the outcome and no update on whether the couples were still together. The movie, The Notebook drew 138 000 viewers around 9:10pm. Nine News (Very!) Late was watched by 73 000.

The Project 6:30pm was on 191 000 but The Project 7pm rose to 261 000 and was 10’s #1 program for the night. 10 moved The Challenge out of the 7:30pm slot and brought in a repeat of Bondi Rescue. The lifesaving ob doc had 163 000 viewers and a second repeat had 155 000, which was not significantly higher than the reality series did last week. The Challenge Australia moved to 8:30pm with 96 000 fans. A second episode followed with 72 000. Although fans may be worried the show will be pulled from the schedule, it has just two weeks remaining, so I think the show will be safe.

ABC News was #5 for the night with 632 000 and was #1 in its slot. 730 was #8 with 565 000. Australian Story actually increased on its lead in with 574 000and was at #7. Media Watch was #9 with 550 000. A repeat of The Australian Dream was on 231 000.

SBS continued to do well with the 2022 FIFA World Cup landing at #13 with 393 000 for the match between Cameroon and Serbia.
