Key Internationals Back For More From SCREEN FOREVER’S SPA Connect Market – Screen Producers Australia (SPA) today announced three powerhouse international screen industry executives confirmed to return to SCREEN FOREVER to participate in the upcoming SPA Connect Market as part of SCREEN FOREVER 39 (Tuesday, 6 May – Thursday, 8 May 2025), Australia’s premier screen industry event.

Ted Miller, Founder at Triangle Management; Thomas Robins, Head of Sky Originals NZ at Sky Television New Zealand; and Ava Knight, Director of Acquisitions at FIFTH SEASON, have all attended SCREEN FOREVER(s) in the past. After such positive outcomes from the 2024 conference and Market, delegates will have the opportunity to meet with them in May 2025.

Whilst on the ground in Queensland’s Gold Coast, Ted will join a host of other industry executives during Marketplace Roundtables, where he will share insights into the evolving international content landscape. His unmatched experience in packaging and selling global hits makes him an unmissable presence at this year’s event.

Ava Knight, Director of Acquisitions at global film and TV studio FIFTH SEASON, specialises in identifying best-in-category unscripted and scripted content and building partnerships with industry-leading creators, producers, and IP owners. Her decade-long experience in acquisitions, co-productions, and content strategy has shaped a dynamic career in bringing unique stories to global audiences.

Ava Knight said,

“At FIFTH SEASON, we’ve seen notable success in partnering up with Australian production companies – such as Made Up Stories for comedic drama series Strife, and in collaboration with Blossom Films on Liane Moriarty adaptations including family drama The Last Anniversary for Foxtel Group’s Binge, and Nine Perfect Strangers for Hulu. We’ve grown our Australian slate over the past year with Jungle Entertainment’s sharp-witted crime caper He Had It Coming and documentary series Death Cap coproduced with Dreamchaser and Den of Martians, both for Stan. Australia remains a key focus as we expand our slate of premium scripted and unscripted content, and I look forward to exploring opportunities with both new and existing partners in the Gold Coast this year.”

Delegates will have the chance to secure a meeting with Ava, alongside Thomas Robins, during the in-person Ready, Steady, Pitch!, which was restructured in the lead-up to SCREEN FOREVER 39 to facilitate better matching between projects and buyers.

SPA are hopeful both Ava and Thomas will be able to participate in Marketplace Roundtables while at the conference; this will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Emmy award-winning producer and director Thomas Robins oversees scripted content for Sky Originals NZ, commissioning premium programming for Sky’s streaming platform Neon and all Sky channels.

“Attending SCREEN FOREVER has always been a pleasure for me, definitely one of the year’s highlights.  I’ve always felt so welcomed and have thoroughly enjoyed the friendly, positive vibe of the Australian screen industry.  It’s time Sky New Zealand Originals and our friends across the ditch found ‘that’ exciting project to collaborate on,”

– said Thomas Robins.

Thomas has a passion for bold, big-hearted stories and international co-productions, Robins actively seeks fresh, compelling narratives — making SCREEN FOREVER 39 a prime opportunity for delegates to connect with him.

SPA is thrilled to have Ava, Ted, and Thomas participate in the SPA Connect Market and encourages delegates to schedule meetings with them where possible. Having them in the market could be a game-changer for Australian creatives looking to break into the international market.

Delegates are encouraged to register early to secure their spot to avoid missing out on what is regularly a sold-out event.
