The official trailer for Tales From Outer Suburbia on ABC has dropped – The official trailer for highly anticipated animated series, Tales From Outer Suburbia has dropped today, ahead of the series premiere on ABC iview on New Years Day.
Tales From Outer Suburbia will premiere on New Year’s Day, bringing to life Shaun Tan’s beloved illustrated stories and featuring the voice of Dawn French.
Inspired by Tan’s memories of growing up in Perth’s northern suburbs, the series is set to be a uniquely Western Australian take on growing up in Perth.
Production of the series provided an extraordinary opportunity for Western Australian creatives to be involved in the cutting-edge CGI animation and handcrafted stop-motion look and feel at WA production company Siamese, who co-produced the series alongside Australian production companies, Highly Spirited and Flying Bark Productions.
The 10-part adaptation of the best-selling illustrated book by Shaun Tan follows Klara and her brother Pim as they move to the suburbs with their mum Lucy (Geraldine Hakewill) and find there’s more to their new neighbourhood than meets the eye.
As Pim and Klara navigate the quiet mysteries of everyday life, and adventures full of surprising and bizarre encounters, they must learn to support each other as a family and discover where they belong in this ever-changing world. Starring newcomers Brooklyn Davies and Felix Oliver Vergés.
