Co-Production partner: ARTE G.E.I.E.
International Rights: Blue Ant Rights
With exclusive access, this two-part series delves deep into Europe’s most beautiful heritage sites to reveal how they are inextricably linked to the wildlife living there. Mont-St-Michel and the castles of the Loire Valley in France, Bran Castle in Romania, Alhambra in Spain and Duart Castle in Scotland are just some of the many famous cultural heritage sites in Europe that, beneath their grand splendour, hide many secrets and surprises. After centuries of war and peace, upheaval and settlement, these heritage sites and their surrounding natural habitats are home to a diversity of wildlife that have forged relationships with heritage sites in their own unique ways. Ambitious drone shots and long lenses along with infrared, remote, and time-lapse filming never-before-seen views of these magnificent heritage, showing fascinating animal behaviour unfolding through the seasons.
Aussie Snake Wranglers: Deadly Pursuit Season 2 (6 x 30’)
Producer: Breakout Productions
International Rights: Blue Ant Rights
Season 2 of Aussie Snake Wranglers: Deadly Pursuit continues following a team of elite snake handlers as they go head-to-head with some of the deadliest snakes on the planet. Set against the backdrop of Queensland’s picturesque Sunshine Coast, the snake wranglers once again come up against some of the most venomous snakes in the world including Australia’s deadliest – the eastern brown. In each episode, the team, led by venomous snake guru Stuart McKenzie, answer calls from everyday Aussies whose homes have been invaded by these fearsome reptiles. Time is always the enemy as snakes can disappear in the blink of an eye, leaving families distraught and fearing for their lives. But Stuart and his team don’t stop until the snake is caught and relocated – even if that means putting their own lives on the line!
Superbeast (6 x 60’)
Producer: WildBear Entertainment
International Rights: Blue Ant Rights
Through a classic play-of-the-day format, this fun and entertaining series captures nature at its reddest, rawest, most powerful, most intelligent, and fastest. Each episode delivers an ascending list of the top tier wildlife abilities in a specific category, focusing on their extraordinary skills. The list will always be curated for surprise and revelation, whether that’s the fastest, deadliest, sneakiest, trickiest. So while the cheetah is technically the quickest thing on land, a gaboon viper with a strike so fast it can’t be seen may just leave the cheetah spinning its wheels in second place. Human sport comparisons are employed to keep everything real and relatable, giving an understandable and memorable scale to the world’s Superbeasts.
Wild Germany (2 x 60’)
Producer: Doclights
Deep in the heart of northern Germany lies a surprising wilderness. Wild Germany reveals an intimate portrait of an ancient cultural landscape, where forests, wetlands and mountains shelter an abundance of life. Elusive wildcats prowl the undergrowth, lynxes and wolves return to reclaim their ancestral range, beavers engineer entire ecosystems along natural floodplains, while shy mouflons roam the open land. Along riverbanks, nutrias bask in the sun and dragonflies hunt. It is a realm with more than 200 bird species—from elegant swifts to cranes, and colorful mallards to shimmering bee-eaters. In the south of the region rises Germany’s northernmost mountain range: the Harz. Known for its dramatic weather, snowstorms in winter and rain-soaked forests in summer. Here, majestic red deer roar in the valleys, while the lynx – once extinct in Germany – has made a remarkable comeback. Through these forests, rivers, plains and mountains run a common thread: resilience.
