AACTA Audience Choice Awards finalists – Finalists for the publicly voted AACTA Audience Choice Awards have been announced.

In their biggest year ever, the Australian Academy received more than 300,000 votes to determine the nominees in seven categories including Favourite Film, TV Show, Actress, Actor, Australian Media Personality, Australian Sporting Moment and Australian Digital Creator.

Home grown star Margot Robbie has picked up a nomination for Favourite Actress alongside Aussies Chris Hemsworth and Jacob Elordi picking up nominations for Favourite Actor.

Chloe Hayden returns as a nominee this year for Favourite Media Personality after winning the 2022 AACTA Audience Choice Award for Best Actress for her role in Heartbreak High. She’s joined by Jimmy Rees, Sophie Monk, Em Rusciano, Shameless Podcast and Abbie Chatfield who took out the 2022 AACTA Audience Choice Award for Best TV Personality.

The new category, Favourite Australian Sporting Moment, garnered an incredible selection of nominees across Australia’s top sports. Both the 2023 AFL Grand Final and the 2023 NRL Grand Final are nominated, alongside the Matilda’s World Cup run, Australian Diamonds World Cup win, Carlton reaching the AFL finals and Daniel Ricciardo’s return to Formula 1.

Kat Clark, Luke & Sassy Scott and Anna Paul, who all received nominations in the Digital Creator category in 2022, return this year each picking up a nomination. They are joined by Sofia Ligeros, Maddy MacRae, Bridey Drake, Georgia Productions and Indy Clinton.

The AACTA Audience Choice winners will be announced alongside the 2024 AACTA Awards presented by Foxtel Group on Saturday 10 February at HOTA on the Gold Coast. The 2024 AACTA Awards Ceremony will be broadcast on Channel Ten at 7pm, Saturday 10 February. A special director’s cut including all awards from the ceremony will be available at 7:30pm on Sunday 11 February on BINGE and Foxtel On-Demand and on AACTA TV.

Notable winners from 2022 include Heartbreak High for Best TV Series, Bryn Chapman Parish for Best Actor, Chloe Hayden for Best Actress, and Elvis for Best Film.

The 2024 AACTA Awards forms part of AACTA Festival, a four-day celebration of Australia’s vibrant screen industry. With more than 90 events, AACTA Festival will present a dynamic array of panels, meet-and-greet, screenings and activities offering a place for the Australian screen industry to connect from February 8-11, 2024. Many nominees and winners from the AACTA Awards will be presenting on panels and discussions throughout the Festival.
