Henry Heinz is arrested after the bankruptcy of his failing horseradish company and makes a big bet on America’s appetite for a new tomato-based sauce of his own creation. A wounded Civil War veteran with a morphine addiction named John Pemberton creates a health tonic with the coca leaf and the kola nut, naming it Coca Cola.
Famed physician Dr. John Kellogg runs a sanitarium in Battle Creek Michigan where his little brother Will serves patients a new breakfast health food called granola. And after a brief stay at the sanitarium, ailing patient C.W. Post launches his own cereal company and quickly corners the market.
