Seven applauds Cricket Australia announcement – Summer of Cricket, live and free on Seven and 7plus from September
The Seven Network applauds Cricket Australia’s announcement of a 40-match WBBL|10 regular season, to be broadcast live and free on Seven and, for the very first time, 7plus.
Managing Director Seven Melbourne and Head of Network Sport, Lewis Martin, said:
“With the upcoming WBBL and BBL seasons, paired with a men’s five Test Series against India and the highly anticipated Women’s Ashes, the 2024-25 summer of cricket on Seven and 7plus will be one of the greatest yet.
“Mirroring the men’s new-look BBL season – which saw Seven’s audience grow on the previous summer – WBBL|10 is set to deliver big crowds, big viewer numbers and even bigger performances to households around the entire country. It’s going to be massive.
“In every discussion and decision together with Cricket Australia, the viewer remains at the forefront of everything we do and we look forward to working together to deliver another awe-inspiring, star-studded WBBL season,”
– he said.
“In what will be a huge game changer, Seven will launch the summer of cricket on 7plus, on Thursday, 19 September when the Women’s T20 side face New Zealand, giving all Australians live and free digital access to the nation’s favourite summer sport, all summer long. It’s all about every Australian having the best opportunity and access to the sports they love, live and free on Seven.
“On behalf of Seven, I would like to thank Cricket Australia, led by Chief Executive Officer, Nick Hockley for their continued support.”
