SPA Welcomes New SPA Council & Fresh Perspectives – Following Screen Producers Australia’s (SPA) Annual General Meeting yesterday, the 2024/25 SPA Council was announced. The Council comprises elected Councillors and appointed Advisors from a wide range of screen businesses who together represent the interests of all types of screen content producers.
“Congratulations to our new Council who, with their varied experiences and skills, will continue to guide our organisation during what is set to be a period of both opportunity and great challenge for Australia’s screen businesses,”
– said SPA CEO Matthew Deaner.
“The SPA team and I look forward to working alongside Council President Tracey Vieira, Vice President Suzanne Ryan and all the continuing and new appointments announced. There is much unfinished business. Key amongst this is the Government’s promised streaming regulation which will continue to be a key priority for our organisation.
Council President Tracey Vieira commended the newly elected members and extended appreciation to those who concluded their terms, stating,
“I congratulate all Councillors and Advisors on their election and welcome Jill Hewitt, who is new to the Council this year and welcome back Nick Murray, and Aaron Fa’aoso who returns after a brief hiatus.
“I also want to acknowledge Councillors Kylie Munnich, Tsu Shan Chambers, Veronica Fury, and Advisors Stephanie Dower, Kurt Royan and Kevin Whyte along with Aimee Huxley, last year’s Diversity Mentorship Scheme Participant, for their valuable contributions over the past twelve months.”
