Rob meets local seafarers and lighthouse keepers to hear stories of shipwrecks discovering extraordinary feats of bravery, ingenuity, and design as he continues to crack the code of these enigmatic structures. Each episode is led by a new iconic lighthouse with its feet in a different sea, as Rob takes a tour of the unique challenges that were to be overcome.

Travelling to the North of Scotland Rob discovers the story of the British oil industry through its incredible engineering; from first oil to today’s innovative rigs.
Rob meets one of the survivors of the Sea Gem disaster – the first British oil rig to mine in the North Sea.
He gets hands-on as he learns how to drill for oil, helps maintain a rig and gets involved in the decommissioning of a platform.
