Eurovision Song Contest on SBS – Stay tuned, Australia. It’s time to mark your calendars. On Wednesday 6 March (AEDT), SBS and production partner Blink TV will announce who will represent Australia at the 68th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden. Â
Last year, beloved Perth synth-metal band Voyager placed ninth in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, United Kingdom, with their song Promise. This year, the avid Eurovision fans – and now national treasures – are seated, ready to see who will represent the country in only a matter of months. Â
In a historic win, Sweden’s Loreen took out the 2023 title with her song Tattoo. This year marks the seventh time Sweden will host Eurovision after previously hosting three times in Stockholm (1975, 2000, 2016), twice in Malmö (1992, 2013) and once in Gothenburg (1985).
It will also be 50 years since ABBA won the contest with their song Waterloo, setting them on course for global success. Â
