Let’s dive in.
Once the experts have made their matches we usually don’t see them again until everyone is happily married, but this bunch have the experts working overtime.
Before we feast our eyes on the newest nuptials, we see John exiting his car with a solemn look on his face. This can’t be good.
Dressed in all black, he arrives at one participants’ doorstep and knocks on the door. Much to our surprise, it’s Michael who answers.
We briefly met Michael at the Hens Night where he opened up about meeting the man of his dreams… but expert John has the unfortunate task of quashing those dreams following an unprecedented event.
His match has left, and he’s not coming back.
“I’ve got some real disappointing and shocking news,” John begins.
“After the Bucks and Hens Nights, your match decided to send us an e-mail saying he no longer wanted to be a part of the experiment.”
EPISODE 1 RECAP: One groom drops a relationship bombshell while a ‘disgusting’ best man speech mortifies everyone
It’s a “hard blow” for Michael who didn’t even get the chance to meet his match Simon.
“I feel like someone just ripped my heart out of my chest,” Michael tears up.
But it’s not all bad news for Michael. John vows that the experts are looking closely at new matches for him so they can hopefully deliver the fairytale ending he deserves.
With a start like that we’re hoping it’s only up from here, and that these next two marriages don’t end before they even start…
Eden and Jayden’s Wedding
You might recognise our next groom Jayden and that’s because he’s the brother of former MAFS participant Mitch Eynaud from Season 9.
Mitch was matched with Ella Ding and gifted us the now famous line, “You wiggin’ bruh?”

Unlike his brother, Jayden isn’t ‘wiggin’. In fact the pair admit they are different in many ways.
At just 26, Jayden has traditional values and wants a young family. After his ex cheated on him he’s ready to find the right girl to spend the rest of his life with.
He’s hoping that girl will be Eden. The 28-year-old is all too familiar with the type of betrayal Jayden has experienced after her ex cheated on her with her childhood best friend. Eden admits she doesn’t let many people in but the experts are confident that Jayden is the kind of strong character that can earn her trust.
Both Eden and Jayden’s worries about trusting the process fly out the window as they lay eyes on each other.
EPISODE 2 RECAP: One bride receives a chilling warning about her groom and a wild wedding is ‘abandoned’
“She is definitely my type,” Jayden beams, admitting he’s getting lost in Eden’s eyes.
Eden is on the same page. “I think my grin says it all. He’s tall and handsome, he’s so stunning,” she beams, and it’s fair to say we’re giddy with this match.
Despite their obvious chemistry, Jayden is soon enough doubting whether Eden is really into him.
“I got the vibe that she didn’t really like me,” he confides in his brother outside the reception hall. Simultaneously, Eden giddily skips around the wedding and ogles over her new groom. Oh Jayden, if only you knew.
Not one to beat around the bush, Jayden comes forward with his doubts but Eden is quick to reassure him that the attraction and interest is definitely there.
“I would sum up today as perfect. It was 10 out of 10,” Eden gushes. We can’t get enough of this pair.
Natalie and Collins’ Wedding Day
Natalie, 32, opens by saying she’s “definitely not a Bondi babe.”
Instead, she says she “burns like a crisp” and “has wrinkles on the side of her eyes” and we’ve immediately fallen in love with this relatable queen.
She’s still grappling with the loss of her father just six weeks ago, but now knows that life is short and is ready to take the leap of faith to meet someone just as quirky and energetic as she is.
Despite never getting past a first date before, Collins is ready to get married. Frankly, we love the determination.
However, it seems Natalie isn’t quite ready to the knot… not for a lack of wanting to.
Natalie is quite literally struggling to get to the altar and after tripping on her dress about a half a dozen times. The producers decide they can’t watch on any longer and intervene by carrying Natalie to the end of the aisle.
In a final bid to save her dignity, Natalie (a qualified physiotherapist) requests microphone tape so she can makeshift a support for her ankle. Iconic.

Despite the initial difficulties Natalie had in getting to the altar, everyone’s nerves subside when Natalie and Collins realise just how much they have in common. They share a love for the Essendon football club, Taylor Swift and have same eccentric energy. It’s a big tick for Natalie and Collins and a massive grin from us.
There’s no wiping the smile off of Natalie’s face, who feels she can really be herself around Collins.
As the day goes on, Natalie grows more and more comfortable and she really lets her inner-freak fly.
But Collins (who has enough energy of his own) worries that there might only be room for one big personality in the relationship.
“It’s my energy and her energy…. and this is the first time I’m with someone who’s matching me, if not giving more,” Collins sighs.
“This is just a lot.”
Despite all they have in common, Collins is overwhelmed by Natalie’s energy and slowly but surely it appears he might be getting what modern day society dubs, “the ick”.
The wedding night reaches the ultimate anti-climax when Collins requests to sleep in a separate room to his wife.
The next morning, he pulls Natalie aside for a chat to clarify his feelings.
“I am in this wholeheartedly but at the same time this is really unfamiliar territory,” he tells his wife. “I know that I will take time and this feeling won’t be immediate for me.”
Natalie is completely understanding but when producers approach her while packing for the honeymoon, they find her in tears.
“Can I have a couple of minutes to compose myself? I don’t want to look like I’ve been crying,” she sniffles.
Naww. Our hearts sink for Natalie.
