Prosper on Stan – Stan, Australia’s unrivalled home of original productions and global content leader Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B), today announced that Richard Roxburgh (Rake, Elvis, The Crown and Stan Original Series Bali 2002) and Rebecca Gibney (Halifax: Retribution, Back to the Rafters and Wanted) will lead the cast of the Stan Original Series Prosper, an epic family drama taking a provocative peek behind the curtain of power and privilege.

A razor-sharp drama of faith, ambition and divided loyalties, Prosper is set in the inner sanctum of a family bound together by unfathomable wealth and unchecked power as they build an evangelical megachurch hell-bent on global domination.

Richard Roxburgh stars as Cal Quinn, Founder and Global Pastor at U Star with Rebecca Gibney as Abi Quinn, his wife and Worship Leader. The cast also includes Ewen Leslie (Stan Original Series Bali 2002, The Stranger) playing Dion Quinn, the dutiful eldest son, with Ming-Zhu Hii (La Brea, Peter Rabbit) starring as his wife, Taryn Quinn. Jacob Collins-Levy (Stan Original Film True History of the Kelly Gang, The Witcher: Blood Origin) will star as Jed Quinn, a rebel with a cause and youngest son within the Quinn family, along with Hayley McCarthy (Sylvie’s Love, The Originals) as Isabel Kalani, the only daughter of the Quinn family, as the gifted singer-songwriter of U Star, and Jordi Webber (Nomad, Deadlands) as Isabel’s American husband Benji. In his breakthrough role, Alexander D’Souza plays Moses, the adopted son of Cal and Abi.

Other casting includes Jacek Koman (Moulin Rouge!, Children of Men) as Eli, and rising star Andrea Solonge (Class of 07, Privileged) as Juno. Brigid Zengeni (Stan Original Series Totally Completely Fine, The Secret She Keeps) will play Rosa, Juno’s mother, and Alex FitzAlan (The Wilds, Slender Man) will play US DJ Maddox.

Richard Roxburgh said:

‘Prosper is a powerful family drama that is cleverly written, and arrives with impeccable timing. Cal Quinn is an irresistible character. He’s a luminous and powerful figure, yet plagued with doubt and secrets. And the excellent writing team have surrounded him with equally complex characters. I can’t wait to jump into this with the cast and bring it all to life.’

Rebecca Gibney said:

‘I am thrilled to be joining the cast of Prosper and can’t wait to start working with the incredibly talented team behind this very special and timely drama series. The producers have assembled an astonishing cast and crew, the scripts are fabulous and Abi Quinn is unlike anyone I have played before!’

Producer Jason Stephens said:

‘Lingo Pictures is incredibly proud of Prosper and we can’t wait to get underway with our stellar cast and exceptional creative team. We’ve had immense support and enthusiasm from our partners at Stan and Lionsgate to realise this timely Australian story which we firmly believe will resonate with audiences around the world.’

The Stan Original Series Prosper follows the Quinns, the founding family behind one of the fastest growing megachurches in the world, U Star, based in Sydney, Australia. Poised on the precipice of a lucrative American expansion, the family is about to catapult into a whole new stratosphere of wealth and unchecked power. But behind closed doors, the Quinns are a family protecting shameful secrets – all while preaching a message of faith, love and acceptance to their many thousands of followers. At its heart, Prosper is a razor-sharp study of a damaged family inextricably bound together while tearing themselves apart.

Created by Matt Cameron (Jack Irish, Secret City) and Jason Stephens (Lambs of God, Upright) and developed with the support of Stan, Lionsgate, Screen Australia and Screen NSW, Prosper is written by Matt Cameron and Liz Doran (Barons, Please Like Me), Louise Fox (Glitch, Broadchurch) and Belinda Chayko (Fires, Stateless). The series will be directed by Jennifer Leacey (The Secret She Keeps, The Commons) and Shaun Wilson (Romantic Getaway, Frayed), and produced by Jason Stephens and Andrew Walker (Deadloch, Rosehaven). Helen Bowden will executive produce for Lingo.

Stan Originals represent Stan’s significant investment and focus in original productions.

The Stan Original Series Prosper is another example of Stan delivering premium film and television content to Australians and expanding the partnership with Hollywood studio Lionsgate and some of the world’s most sought-after producers.

The Stan Original Series Prosper is produced by Lingo Pictures, part of ITV Studios, with major production investment from Screen Australia with the assistance of the NSW Government via Screen NSW and the Made in NSW Fund. Lionsgate will manage international sales.
