Postcards on Channel 9 – Join the Postcards team this week as they check out the hottest new musical in town, at 5.30pm Sunday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
Lauren Phillips is touring the laneways and backstreets of Collingwood (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). She stops by sustainable handbag shop Into Carry and cafe Into Coffee and chats to owner Luke Phillips about his zero-waste ethos. She then heads down the road to the satellite gallery space, Gertrude Contemporary, before enjoying a meal at Chiaki, a Japanese eatery known for its ochazuke and izakaya dishes.
Kris Smith checks in for a “stay-cay” in the CBD at the Vibe Hotel Melbourne (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). After giving viewers a tour of the hotel facilities and contemporary rooms, he heads across the road to hire a boat with GoBoat Melbourne for a unique cruising experience along the Yarra.
He finishes his day back at the hotel with a nautical-themed cocktail at Flinders Street’s newest and tallest rooftop bar, Fleet.
Meanwhile, guest presenter Yvie Jones steps behind the curtain at the Regent Theatre for a sneak peek of the musical Wicked (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country).
She chats to members of the cast about all things Oz before popping in next door to The Westin with lead performers Sheridan Adams (Elphaba) and Courtney Monsma (Glinda) to check out their special accommodation packages, including Wicked themed cocktails and high tea.
And we find Todd Woodbridge wining and dining at some top spots on the Peninsula (Boonwurrung Country). First, he stops in at Charlie’s Auto Museum in Arthurs Seat to look at Charlie’s collection of over 80 motor vehicles and tonnes of vintage memorabilia.
In Red Hill, Todd dines at Many Little Bar & Dining, a modern Sri-Lankan inspired restaurant headed by Executive Chef, Gayan Pieris, that pairs tasty flavours with local produce. His day ends with a wine tasting at the boutique family run vineyard, Eldridge Estate with owner, Vicki Tutungi.
