Pitch On Demand 2023 – Successful Submissions – Today, Screen Producers Australia (SPA) is excited to announce the SPA members who secured a pitch with one or more of the three premium content commissioners participating in the third iteration of Pitch On Demand – Apple TV+, the Foxtel Group, and Warner Bros. Discovery.
Pitch On Demand, known for its accessible and streamlined approach to pitching, has once again demonstrated its success in providing valuable opportunities for producers to accelerate pathways to audiences.
This year, Apple TV+’s Senior Creative Executive Oliver Jones and International Creative Development Executive Carolyn Carbone provided a written brief for producers, whilst Foxtel and BINGE’s Head of Scripted Originals Lana Greenhalgh, Warner Bros. Discovery’s Senior Director Commissioning ANZ Vicki Keogh, Senior Commissioner Unscripted Virginia Hodgson, and Senior Commissioner Scripted Tina McLaren all provided their briefs via 30-minute webinars.
Almost 600 screen industry professionals registered for the video briefings, resulting in 143 members submitting 275 tailored one-page pitches, hoping to progress to pitch meetings with the commissioners. This is a very popular initiative, and it underpins the dedication of both SPA members and commissioners to developing, producing, and delivering high-quality Australian stories to audiences. Overall, 19 members were selected to move to the pitching stage, with the assessment based on the quality of the project and adherence to the brief of each individual platform.
SPA CEO Matthew Deaner thanked the executives and enthusiasm for the opportunities Pitch On Demand presents, stating,
