It’s Final Test Week, and that titular task has one bride crying in the hallway as she declares her marriage over.

Inside her apartment, a mopey Paul knows he has no one to blame for this mess but himself – and his curiosity, which he speaks of like it’s an autonomous being.

Carina and Paul’s marriage hits an all time low
First up, Jamie and Dave make their decision.
Dave wants to prove his feelings for Jamie and isn’t willing to put their rekindled strength in jeopardy, so he will not be doing the task.

Meanwhile, Jamie is simply surprised that she had more than one possible match.
As a self-described “nosey b—h”, she can’t help but want to know who the other one was.
She’s conscious of not hurting Dave’s feelings, or disappointing their fish children, but Jamie decides she needs to at least see this person.Play Video
Jamie and Dave decide whether to take on the Final Test
Awhina and Adrian go next – and Adrian is apprehensive for about five seconds.
“If I go am I the bad guy or what?” he asks.
I don’t know man, maybe flick Paul a text?
Scratch that, he doesn’t actually care. “F–k it, let’s go,” he declares.
Awhina puts a lot more thought (and tears) into her decision. She knows that Adrian will do it, which is obviously upsetting to her, so she eventually also thinks “F–k it, let’s go”.Play Video
Awhina struggles to trust Adrian as they are tempted with the Final Test
Jacqui and Ryan do not need to separate to receive the task details, because Ryan still won’t step within 100 metres of his old apartment.

Beforehand, Jacqui says she would do literally anything to make their relationship work, while Ryan reminisces on the time they danced on their honeymoon and he did not drop her.
And afterwards, well, Ryan has a “harrowing conundrum” and Jacqui is…
After a lot of inner turmoil, Ryan agrees to meet his match – who he hopes is “less critical, less judgmental and just down-to-earth”.
Vivian is a 30-year-old “Grogan”, meaning Greek-bogan. And yes, this is our second bogan-related slang this season. Groganic!Play Video
Ryan contemplates ‘taking a chance’ on the Final Test
They cheers to learning a new skill and Ryan’s 250-year-old Samurai sword.

He doesn’t think Jacqui would have taken up the task, asserting she’s finally had a revelation that she doesn’t want to lose him.
Uh, cut to Jacqui complimenting her match Rory’s plain white shirt.
She’s looking for greener grass and is delighted to learn that Rory reads self-help books and actual physical newspapers sometimes.
“Rory was like an angel from heaven… I feel happy, I feel light, I feel like I just want to hang out with Rory now,” she laughs.
Across town, Vivian commiserates with Ryan about ‘pulling the short straw’ with his marriage, but he also has plenty of nice things to say about Jacqui too.Play Video
Ryan hits it off with his other match
He’s willing to give Jacqui another chance.
And… Jacqui is willing to give Rory her number.
With cameras now on the other side of the room, Jacqui sneakily tells Rory they should keep in touch.
“If you want to give me your number, then I can text you. I will be out of this experiment in probably 10 days,” she tells him.Play Video
Jacqui makes a move on her other match
Across town, Awhina meets potential match Tim and explains her concerns about Adrian to him regarding the distance and his reluctance to date someone with a child.
As Awhina points out, Tim gives her more assurance and validation during this conversation than Adrian has their whole relationship.Play Video
Awhina takes a leap of faith as she meets her alternative match
Meanwhile, Adrian meets Maxine and the flirting is INSTANT.
They bond over sunrises and being each other’s physical type, as Adrian dubs Max “Awhina 2.0”.

Adrian hits it off with his other match
While Dave naps at the apartments, Jamie has been patiently waiting for her other match to turn up all bloody day.
But he’s a no-show.
”I’ve never been stood up at a restaurant before in my life and now I have to remember this moment for the rest of my life,” Jamie reacts as she’s told the news.

Later, everyone returns to the apartments and Awhina’s decision is weighing on her.
She’s anxious to share her concerns with Adrian, but he is very blasé.
“I’m not worried, I couldn’t care less,” he tells her.

Awhina tells Adrian they have ‘failed’ the Final Test
She thinks that if they were actually in a strong, healthy relationship they wouldn’t have done it – and that rings true, as Rhi and Jeff cheers to their future on a romantic date… with each other.
Jamie patiently waits to be reunited with Dave, who tells her he did not even consider going on the date.
She tells him about her decision and how her date was a no-show, which Dave cannot help laughing at.
Jamie’s decision doesn’t change much for him, but he has to admit: “I’m glad she got stood up”.
Ryan is racked with guilt about his decision to meet Vivian, so he’s invited Jacqui over to confess.
He’s expecting a lot of jealously and a barrage of questions, so is visibly confused when Jacqui has no questions at all.
“I went on the date,” Jacqui also tells him.
“That’s interesting,” Ryan reacts, with a biiiig ol’ sip from his wine glass.
He doesn’t think anyone who wrote ‘stay’ should have taken on the task, but Jacqui says she’s still committed to him and their relationship.
Ryan probes for details about the date and Jacqui is loathed to give them up, as she’s more interested in talking about how he’s jealous.
She is DELIGHTED by this and thinks the task has done wonders for their relationship.
Then, Jacqui brings out a list.
But unlike the 30 times before, this time Ryan can rest easy.
This is a list of things she likes about him, like how he pats her like a cat, has great posture and will be a slave to mortgage repayments for the rest of time.
She apologises for hurting him and promises many more (hopefully positive) lists in their future, and Ryan is grateful for the gesture.
They decide to move forward, starting with him moving back into their apartment.Play Video

But is it all prefaced on a lie?
A producer asks Jacqui if she told Ryan about swapping numbers with Rory.
She didn’t, “but he didn’t ask so it’s OK”, she giggles.
Oh great! I don’t see how that could possibly end in disaster!
Tomorrow night, it’s the FINAL Dinner Party of the year.
While there is plenty to look back on fondly there is also A LOT of Final Task-related carnage to unpack.
