Before we feast our eyes on the newest nuptials, we catch up with our newlyweds Cassandra and Tristan and Sara and Tim who have swanned off on their honeymoons.
Cassandra and Tristan are having a lovely time, but Sara and Tim are still bristling over an argument they had where Tim told (or didn’t tell, depending on who you ask) Sara to “relax”.
EPISODE 1 REACP: One groom drops a relationship bombshell while a ‘disgusting’ best man speech mortifies everyone
In tropical Fiji, Tim has donned his fave sheepskin jacket yet again and decides he probably needs to make amends with his brand-new wife. The two have a constructive chat that ends with a hug. Tim’s relieved.
But now, it’s time for a fresh groom to potentially stick his foot in it…
Lucinda and Timothy’s Wedding
When asked to rate himself out of 10, Timothy gives himself a four. But the 51-year-old business owner is hoping that his personality might lift that score up a few notches.
“It’s what all us average people say, we’ve got great personalities,” he laughs.
Timothy has given himself the label of ‘the Tin Man’ from The Wizard of Oz. He has a hard exterior but inside, has a heart that desperately wants to find love. Admitting he has a heart “means I can be hurt,” says Tim.
Timothy’s father recently passed away, a tragedy that’s still very raw for him. He has also lost his mother and brother, leaving him without any living family.
“I want to make space for somebody in my life,” Tim shares. “I’m looking for somebody that’s got a heart.”
No one has more heart than Tim’s future bride, Lucinda Light. The Byron Bay Wedding Celebrant admits there’s nothing she adores more in the world than love.
She’s not worried about sharing her heart with someone – she’s only worried about sharing a toilet.
Lucinda embraces life with both hands, admitting she is earthy, spiritual, creative and whimsical. But she knows she needs to open up to new possibilities, eager to “give Australia the best love story ever.”
“She’s the Dorothy to [Timothy’s] Tin Man,” muses expert Mel Schilling, as the team speculate on their newest match.
At age 43, Lucinda admits she’s made peace with the idea she may never have children.
She’s also very clear about who she is and what she’s looking for. So clear, in fact, that she’s written a poem about it. It specifies that she’s after a grounded, good man… with a high functioning erection.
Righto, then.
The morning of the wedding, Lucinda prepares by meditating and hugging trees (literally) while Timothy notes that if his future bride is somewhere chanting ‘Namaste’ they could have a problem on their hands.

But their initial chemistry seems to outweigh any fears Timothy has. Walking down the aisle, Lucinda admits she was checking him out. “Nice bum,” she quips.
Tim smiles widely when he spies his bride, but also mutters “Holy sh-t” under his breath.
“He’s such a big hunk of spunk,” Lucinda thrills.
Tim’s slightly speechless.
His fears that his bride will be a ‘spiritual, energy type of person’ are quickly exacerbated. Lucinda has organised a special blessing for the service, which involves a very unique ‘ceremonialist’, waving a bird wing around.
Timothy is distracted by the wing, pondering exactly what happened to the chicken who proffered it up.
But his musings are completely shot when the weather turns… and the ceremony descends into complete chaos.
“Now sh–t gets real!” Timothy laughs. The skies erupting with a freak storm, the guests run for cover, screaming. Lucinda is thrilled Mother Nature is putting on such a show.
“I think it’s better [than any expectations I may have had]!” she says, delighted. “It’s rugged, it’s raw, it’s real.”
Timothy “really appreciated” the chance to take a break and get his head around the wedding, chicken wing and all.
It’s the first time in MAFS history that a wedding has been forced to be abandoned – a total washout. But eventually, the skies clear and Timothy’s nerves disappear as well.
The pair share heartfelt vows, with Timothy admiring Lucinda’s big heart.
During their photoshoot, Timothy is comfortable enough to open up to Lucinda about his family tragedy. His vulnerability and openness further bond the two together.
She’s joyous when they return to their reception, delighted to party with her new husband and her family and friends. That includes the ‘ceremonalist’, who accosts Timothy and asks if he likes birds.
“So it wouldn’t be past your repertoire to take a wing from a dead bird?” she asks. “Once you start looking, you see them everywhere!”
Timothy realises he now has the answer for where the chicken wing came from.
As the reception kicks into gear, Timothy lets his guard down and reflects on the lack of his family present. In a heartbreaking speech, he opens up about losing his beloved father, and not wanting to be alone in life.
Privately, he says his new bride makes him feel he could let down his usual guard. “She’s a cool chick,” he says. “She hasn’t faltered at all.”
“I think he’s really brave,” Lucinda says admiringly. “I think it’s going to be an extraordinary adventure and I just couldn’t be more excited to be standing beside this incredible man.”
Despite the dead bird wings, the pair end the evening snuggled up by the fire, swapping smooches and vowing to make the most of the adventure together.
Consider our own cold hearts officially melted!
Jack and Tori’s Wedding
Jack is what you’d call an Alpha Male (capitalised), and he’d tell you that himself. The personal trainer is driven, focused and loves to lead.
Jack is also clear about being “very sexually active” and describes himself as a dominant lover. “Definitely not vanilla when it comes to the bedroom,” Jack says frankly. “What’s the freakiest flavour?”
Despite his appetite, Jack isn’t just out for sex. He says he is a “leader and provider” and wants someone for whom he can do both those things. He may be used to dating a “submissive” type, but Jack admits he may need a more confident woman and that’s exactly who he’s about to get.
Meet 27-year-old Tori. She says she’s been told she’s too ambitious, but she firmly believes she can have it all. But because she’s so independent, she struggles to find a partner. But like Jack, she’s also highly sexually driven.
Tori says she can be “harsh, insensitive and aggressive” if things don’t go the way she wants. She says she’s “absolutely a control freak” and given Jack is too, this will be interesting.
Tori’s mother is also a strong, self–sufficient woman who has had a big impact on her daughter and when it comes time for the wedding, she’s going to have a big impact too.
Tori’s mum Melissa is delighted when she claps eyes on her future son-in-law. “You’re brilliant!” she says happily. “He’s very handsome… and very sweet.”
She openly admits she has a bit of a crush and boldly tells Jack that if it doesn’t work out with Tori, he can go home with her.
But despite her endorsement, Jack is packing it as he waits for Tori to arrive.
“I’m very regimented,” he declares. “There’s a lot of stability in my life, structure, routine. Marrying a complete stranger… that’s all out of my control.”
A big smile spreads across his face when he spies his bride. “I’m an energy guy and I liked her energy,” he says.
As Jack shares his vows, Tori is incredulous to hear how much his values align with her own. “We got a winner,” she says in amazement.
“He just… so far, ticks all the boxes,” Tori says, listing his teeth, clean nails and hand tattoos as winners.
When Tori shares her own vows, Jack is a little taken aback to hear her describe herself as a control freak too. But the two share a kiss to celebrate their union and Jack privately admits, “I think she’ll challenge me a little bit but I’ll definitely reckon sort her out and we’ll have a good time.”
But Jack’s declaration to “sort her out” doesn’t go to plan. At the reception, Tori fires off her expectations, quizzing Jack about what time he likes to wake up, what his morning routine involves and whether he’s into 5am walks.
Alpha Jack has met his match and he is not overly thrilled about it.
“I think Tori’s definitely got a bit of spice to her,” he confesses. “I definitely want to play that dominant role to Tori. It might be a bit of a power struggle.”
And Lea, Tori’s best friend, has picked up on that.
As she points out her friends and family, Lea realises that everyone Jack is identifying is a client of his in his personal training business.
“Everyone is just like, acquaintances I’ve met through the gym,” he confirms.
“You are a reflection of your friends and the company that you keep,” she says, noting that Jack didn’t appear to have any long-term or non-business-related friends present.
“Is this a reflection of his inability to have long term relationships?” she muses.
It’s a major red flag for Lea. “Who has my friend married?” she asks, surveying the crowd in front of them.
Despite Tori’s happiness, Lea is concerned and shares her sentiments with her bestie. She questions why everyone present for Jack is a client and ponders if he is guarded. “I don’t know if you feel that energy….” she gently hedges.
Lea points out it’s important her friend’s husband can maintain a long-term relationship, romantic or otherwise.
“Why is everyone here a client of yours? Where are your long-term relationships?” she tells Tori. “I want to see you can maintain a long-term relationship. It doesn’t have to be romantic… but where is that, where you’re not getting financial benefits?”
“It’s giving… controlling the narrative.”
“There is something,” Lea says more firmly. “I can feel it in my bones.” She ponders whether it’s a “misogynistic thing.”
“You won’t know until it comes out,” she warns.
“Lea’s got my back wholeheartedly,” Tori admits, filing her concerns away to ponder another time. “There is that connection there,” she says, noting that while her husband is dominant, she is too.
“That is my job,” she adds. “To deal with strong men.” (For the record, she is a business development manager in the automotive industry.)
“I’ve got this,” she says. “Honestly, I don’t see any issues at all.”
Meanwhile, Jack’s concerned Tori didn’t even ask him what gym he goes to.
Lea shakes her head and says to watch this space. Oh Lea, we’re already there.
Lucinda and Timothy’s Honeymoon
Lucinda wakes up completely smitten with her new beau.
“I think he’s receiving me beautifully,” she oozes. “I think we’re going to be deep medicine for each other.”
“He’s lovely to touch!” she beams, as the pair pack for their honeymoon to Port Stephens.
Jack and Tori’s Honeymoon
Despite bridesmaid Lea’s concerns, Tori and Jack spent the evening chatting into the wee hours. “We didn’t have time to take the marriage to the next level,” Tori explains. “We spoke pretty much the whole night.”
And to confirm, they missed their 5am walk.
The pair busily pack for their honeymoon to Vanuatu and while there, Tori immediately lets down her guard.
That’s helped by the fact she’s very attracted to Jack. “The hair… body… the water just runs off him,” she admires. “Glistening in the sun.”
She watches Jack swing on a rope like Tarzan. “It was a vision, really,” she marvels. “There’s definitely a sexual energy there.
“We are absolutely on the same page,” Tori finishes.
They’re not.
“There’s no sexual sparks flying,” says Jack firmly to cameras. “We’re not sexually connected at all.”
Welp.
