Whether it’s kicking goals as one of the nation’s most beloved figures in entertainment and sport or catapulting Australian drag excellence to unprecedented global recognition, both Tony and Courtney are seasoned pros when it comes to performing at an elite level. These trailblazing titans of Australian television are the perfect pair to rally the nation behind Australia’s 2025 Eurovision artist, global viral pop sensation and certified milkshake aficionado, Go-Jo, as he shakes and makes the whole world dance on the global stage.

From the first pyrotechnic explosion to the penultimate key change, Tony and Courtney will decode every unforgettable moment LIVE from St. Jakobshalle across all 37 competing acts from the Semi Finals to the Grand Final. Buckle up for razor-sharp banter, uncontrollable laughs, undeniable chemistry, and the showstopping performances that make the Eurovision Song Contest a glittering spectacle you don’t want to miss!

Tony Armstrong said:

“I’m so excited to jump into the world of Eurovision with the one and only Courtney Act who has already taken me under her wing. I’m definitely not envious of her brilliance and my jealousy won’t make it on screen I promise. Eurovision holds such a special place in so many hearts around the world. I look forward to being a part of the spectacle along with Courtney!”

Courtney Act said:

“I was not prepared for how much I would enjoy Eurovision last year- and this year I’m back, now with everyone’s favourite IT man, Tony Armstrong (who I can confirm is just as delightful and dashing in real life as you’d expect). I’ll be offering my commentary expertise on every costume reveal, key change, wind machine and pyro moment I know Switzerland will deliver. Tony’s already taught me a thing or two about team sport energy, and I’ll be returning the favour with a crash course in camp!”

With countless accolades between them, this powerhouse pair are ready to embrace the Eurovision spirit and usher in the dawn of an extraordinary new era of the Eurovision Song Contest for Australia.

Beloved television personality and proud Gamilaroi man Tony Armstrong is set to embark on this cross-continental musical odyssey for the very first time. Since bursting onto the TV presenting scene on NITV’s football chat show Yokayi Footy, Tony has left an indelible mark on Australian media and is now ready to bring his incomparable charisma to the Eurovision commentary booth. From playing AFL with Adelaide, Collingwood, and Sydney, to becoming the first Indigenous person to call live action Aussie Rules Football on commercial radio, presenting countless programs across the ABC, NITV and various other networks and earning a Gold Logie award nomination in 2024 – Tony has solidified his status as one of Australia’s most respected and versatile presenters.

Following a hugely successful stint as SBS’s backstage Eurovision correspondent in 2024, Courtney Act returns to the bright lights of the Eurovision Song Contest as host and commentator in 2025. With a formidable track-record on competition shows, Courtney first mesmerised audiences with history-making dual identity auditions in and out of drag on Australian Idol before ascending to international stardom on RuPaul’s Drag Race, clinching the UK Celebrity Big Brother crown and a dazzling second place run on Dancing With The Stars All Stars – all while illuminating the nuances of gender fluidity and championing LGBTQI+ visibility. Suffice to say, Courtney will bring a glamour infused shot of musical expertise and observational wit to the Eurovision commentary booth.

SBS Director of Television Kathryn Fink said:

“As SBS celebrates 50 years, we’re delighted that Tony Armstrong and Courtney Act have agreed to come along for the ride to entertain and guide viewers through the cultural juggernaut that is Eurovision. With two of Australia’s most celebrated personalities at the helm, this year promises to be bigger and bolder than ever before.”

SBS Head of Entertainment Emily Griggs said:

“Tony Armstrong and Courtney Act are the perfect pair to host Eurovision. Courtney brings a wealth of knowledge about music and performance, while Tony’s curiosity and enthusiasm make him a natural for the job. Together, they’ll create an amazing energy, blending expertise with excitement to make Eurovision an unforgettable experience for fans everywhere.”

Australia’s Creative Director for Basel, Paul Clarke said:

“Stepping into the Eurovision commentary booth is no small feat – it’s a role that demands expertise, charisma, and teamwork. Luckily our next set of hosts are larger than life! We couldn’t have asked for a more dynamic duo – with Courtney’s showbiz know-how and Tony’s commentary prowess we will have all bases covered in Basel. Beyond are thrilled to welcome this dream team to the broadcast.”

This year also marks 10 years of Australia competing in the event, officially beginning in 2015 with Guy Sebastian and his song Tonight Again, and most recently Electric Fields with their song One Milkali (One Blood). Please see more information about our 2025 entrant, Go-Jo, and his song Milkshake Man below.

Switzerland’s Nemo won the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden, with their song The Code.
