BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS 2022

JOHANNA + PETE – AMAZING HOMES: THE ARC HOUSE

Even if you didn’t like geometry at school, you’re going to love this tour of The Arc House with Johanna and Pete. Designed and built on radial lines, its distinctive shape is just over a quarter of a circle and reflect elements of mid-century modern design. Joh and Pete explore all the angles, shapes and lines that not only provide character but maintain it’s function as a family home and give it a truly stunning quality.

CHARLIE + ADAM – NOT SO POWERFUL

You don’t need a toolbox, a shed full of power tools or even a trade certificate to make something special in your backyard. Adam and Charlie are going to show you a bunch of projects that only require hand tools and some elbow grease, so all you need to think about is what you want to achieve. Tonight, the boys are adding an upcycled vertical garden to provide some height for a pair of renters. But of course, a little makeover wouldn’t be complete without a little style, making this modest garden a place to relax and entertain.

FAST ED – BARBECUED PORTERHOUSE WITH GOCHUJANG BUTTER

You can’t wrong with the ol’ steak and two veg, but Ed’s giving this classic a makeover by… removing a veg? Whether you call it a sirloin, striploin or New York cut, a porterhouse steak is a barbecue favourite. Of course, tomato or bbq sauce are a staple, but if you want to punch up the flavours a bit, give this Korean-style Gochujang chilli sauce a go. And the one veg? Tuscan Kale works a treat. Ed may have just created a new classic!

FAST ED – DESSERT TORTILLAS IN THREE FLAVOURS

Tortillas maybe known as a savoury dish, but why not make them a sweet treat? Ed has three flavour sensations to try, so there’ll be something for everyone. They can be easily thrown together and are perfect for your next family barbecue in the park. The hardest part is learning the folding technique, but of course Ed has you covered for that too.

GRAHAM – TURF TIME
Tonight, Graham visits the Royal Botanic Garden in the heart of Sydney, which is kind of like the city’s backyard, and talks to some professionals to find out how they keep their lawn so lush. You’ll get all the tips on achieving a perfect lawn and discover the right grass for your place.

JULIET – SMALL SPACE COLOUR BLOCKING

If your granny flat still has a bit too much of granny’s style to it, Juliet is here to help.
The “Japandi” style will give you minimalist, calming space the whole family can enjoy with different zones in the one room thanks to the visual trick of colour blocking. But Juliet’s refresh isn‘t just about painted walls; a floating bookshelf, new rug and stylish furniture not only make the most of the small space, but give it a thoroughly modern look for a younger generation.

JAMES – CAMPING MADE EASY

Does the idea of camping make you feel tents? Well, not anymore! Fortunately, James is going to show you some of the latest innovations on the camping scene, from solar powered battery banks, inflatable watercraft and even an inflatable tent! But it’s not just about the gear, it’s what you do with it that counts, so James has some ideas to fill in your day. So, with James’ tips, your next camping holiday will be your best!

DR HARRY – DOGGIE DOOR DILEMMA

They say when one door closes, another opens, but that’s not the case for Archie the French Bulldog. He’s having trouble getting through his doggie door and it’s causing problems when his owners are out. Can Dr Harry help him with this daily dilemma?
