August on Prime Video

August on Prime Video – highlights for the month of August include The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, Red White and Royal Blue, Kandahar, Harlan Coben’s Shelter, Cruel Summer and Beautiful Disaster.

Asher Keddie, Leah Purcell and Alycia Debnam-Carey join Sigourney Weaver in The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart – an emotionally compelling story of Alice, who after losing both parents in a terrible fire is taken by her estranged grandmother to Thornfield, a women run and operated farm with vast flower fields and many secrets.

Although native wildflowers provide a way to express the inexpressible, Alice’s violent childhood casts a dark shadow over her adult life. This highly anticipated enthralling family drama, that spans over decades, premieres on Friday 4 August.

In Red, White & Royal Blue, the son of the U.S. President (played by Uma Thurman) sparks a feud with Britain’s Prince Henry but when forced into a staged ‘truce’ by their respective parents their icy relationship unexpectedly thaws out. Starring Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine, Red, White & Royal Blue premieres on Friday 11 August.

Other titles launching in August include Gerard Butler playing an undercover CIA operative stuck in hostile territory in Kandahar; in Harlan Coben’s Shelter one great mystery unlocks another and maybe even Mickey Bolitar’s (played by Jaden Michael) own complex family history; anthology series Cruel Summer returns with a brand-new cast and mystery.

RED, WHITE & ROYAL BLUE

AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVELY FROM FRIDAY 11 AUGUST

Alex Claremont-Diaz (Taylor Zakhar Perez), the son of the first woman President of the United States (Uma Thurman), and Britain’s Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine) have a lot in common: stunning good looks, undeniable charisma, international popularity…and a total disdain for each other.

Separated by an ocean, their long-running feud hasn’t really been an issue, until a disastrous—and very public—altercation at a royal event becomes tabloid fodder driving a potential wedge in U.S./British relations at the worst possible time. Going into damage control mode, their powerful families and respective handlers force the two rivals into a staged “truce.”

But as Alex and Henry’s icy relationship unexpectedly begins to thaw into a tentative friendship, the friction that existed between them sparks something deeper than they ever expected. Based on Casey McQuiston’s critically acclaimed New York Times bestseller, Red, White & Royal Blue marks the feature film writing and directing debut of Tony Award-winning playwright Matthew López (The Inheritance).

Red, White & Royal Blue stars Taylor Zakhar Perez, Nicholas Galitzine, Clifton Collins Jr., Sarah Shahi, Rachel Hilson, Stephen Fry, Uma Thurman, Ellie Bamber, Thomas Flynn, Malcolm Atobrah, Akshay Khanna, Sharon D Clarke, Aneesh Sheth and Juan Castano.
