This is Going to Hurt on ABC – There is a politician coming to visit the ward, which head midwife Tracy reluctantly organised along with her actual job.
She and Adam butt heads trying to tidy the ward, whilst dealing with an anxious patient desperate to eat her placenta. Adam is preoccupied by a beloved older patient with cancer – Mrs Winnicka – who he tries to make more comfortable on Gynae ward.
Meanwhile, Shruti is excited about a possible romance with a nurse, but her work troubles make it hard to find any time to pursue it. During a clinic, she suspects a young pregnant woman has a violent partner and struggles to get her alone to talk to her about it. When she finally gains the woman’s trust, the husband returns to the hospital in a fury. Adam and Tracy abandon the politician’s visit to help Shruti deal with this horrible situation.
Adam tries to tell his judgemental, difficult mother about his relationship with Harry. In a panic, he lets out a big lie which will come back to haunt him. When Adam’s mother calls them at home, Harry learns of Adam’s lie, and confronts him, leading to a difficult fight. But when Adam brings Harry along to a patient’s funeral, Harry finally feels that Adam is letting him in, and their relationship steps up a gear.
