The Larkins on ABC returns for a brand new season with Primrose about to leave school.
Set in the summer of 1959, The Larkins return in series 2.
Pop (Bradley Walsh), Ma (Jo Scanlan) and their many children including Baby Oscar are preparing for another riotous school holidays. Only Mariette (Joelle Rae) is missing, zigzagging across Europe on her honeymoon with Charley (Tok Stephen).
Primrose (Lydia Paige) is leaving school and planning a career as a journalist. With Ma’s help she lands a job at The Mid Kent Times. She’s also looking for love which comes in the handsome shape of Rev Candy (Maxim Ays), arriving in the parish much to the chagrin of gnarled old Vicar (Peter Davidson) who is determined to exploit his new housemate.
In Episode One, Pop Larkin hustles himself an offer he can’t refuse from Pinkie and Mr Jerebohm for the huge crumbling mansion next door. It’s a lucrative deal and there’s enough profit to start building a swimming pool. Ma and Pop struggle to warm to their new neighbours after a hilariously dire dinner party at the big house.
Primrose is about to leave school and is set on a career as a journalist. She’s also falling in love with the Rev Candy, newly arrived and locking horns with the tricky old Vicar. Primrose fearlessly asks the heavenly Reverend out and is shocked when he turns her down, but she’s not giving up.
