Each episode follows DCI Barnaby and his trusty sidekick DS Winter, as they endeavour to solve perplexing crimes while also exploring the quirks of this delightful but deadly county.
EPISODE 3
The historic, beautiful old watermill in Lower Blissingham has a rich history and is home to award- winning artisan baker Tom Larkton and his wife pâtissière Chrissie.
The mill and surrounding site has been in Chrissie’s family for over two centuries, and when her father died, she knew it was time to return from London and honour her parents’ legacy of producing organic flour.
Chrissie and Tom revamped and renamed the old mill – restoring the original equipment and adding a state-of-the-art water turbine making them fully sustainable. The charismatic power couple in charge of ‘Larkton’s Mill’ seem to have it all, and Tom’s online vlog and masterclasses have turned him into a minor celebrity with a dedicated following.
But despite growing up in the village, Chrissie has not been welcomed back with open arms. The popularity of Larkton’s as a destination has caused resentment in Lower Blissingham. Many of the old village businesses are now struggling and there are rumours the Larkton’s have plans to expand, the stakes could not be higher.
With so much on the line, the desire to protect one’s livelihood can outweigh just about anything…
