Melbourne International Comedy Festival – The Gala on ABC – Melbourne International Comedy Festival favourite Lizzy Hoo hosts the biggest night of Australia’s comedy calendar.
“I did my first solo show at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in 2019. When I arrived in the city to perform for the first time and saw the flags, posters, spruikers, and thousands of people lining up for shows all over the city – I was blown away by just how big it is. I never imagined then that I would get to host one of its biggest nights.”
Not just a comedy extravaganza, The Gala is a powerful force supporting Oxfam’s mission to eliminate poverty and tackle global inequality. From St Kilda’s iconic Palais Theatre, with a line-up of the best comedians, this two-hour special is a not-to-be missed comedy event.
