Hard Quiz on ABC TV – HARD QUIZ is back!
Fresh from barnstorming his way around Australia with a live version of the nation’s favourite quiz show, Gold Logie-winning comedian Tom Gleeson has managed to herd a new bunch of self-described experts into the hallowed ABC studios to undergo the HARDEST challenge in TV, or probably the whole world.
In each episode of Hard Quiz, Tom welcomes four Australians who are perfectly ordinary, except for one thing: they are REALLY into one special topic. By showing off their knowledge and successfully taking on TV’s grouchiest host, one competitor will be crowned Hard Quiz Champion and hoist aloft the coveted Big Brass Mug!
There’s no telling what topics Tom’s contestants will drag in with them, from fan-favourite movie stars and rock bands, through to historical events, wildlife, gaming, obscure hobbies, and culture that’s so low-brow that it’s lucky to be on the ABC at all. For the contestants, trouble lies ahead in the form of Tom’s own mystery round.
What has he really been getting into this week?
Hard Quiz’s ninth season includes three ‘Duds’ specials, in which Tom welcomes back four fan favourites who were previously dispatched through the big steel doors before they had time to shine. Having learned their lessons, which Duds will make the most of their second chance to wow the nation?
Buzzers ready, Australia: it’s time to play HARD!
In episode 1, Tom Gleeson hosts a clash of epic proportions, with a line-up of expert topics that you’ll only find on Hard Quiz. What happens when Godzilla fan Jack goes head-to-head with Marilyn Monroe fan Ange, Swan Lake fan Andrea, and whale shark fan Jon? Who will come out on top and take home the Big Brass Mug?
