Double Parked on ABC – In this warm-hearted, entertaining comedy drama we meet lesbian couple Steph (Antonia Prebble) and Nat (Madeleine Sami). An unlikely pair, they’ve been together since university and are now ready to start a family.
They have a stable partnership, despite their own vastly different families and slightly unconventional living arrangements… sharing a house with Steph’s mate Lily (Kura Forrester), and Johnny (Dominic Ona-Ariki), Nat’s ex and pseudo brother.
After a long, expensive and disappointing run of IVF, Nat and Steph take matters into their own hands – quite literally – with the use of Lily’s turkey baster and Johnny’s semen!
Meanwhile, there’s been a mix-up at the IVF clinic and Steph learns that she’s actually pregnant! Delighted with the news, she can’t wait to tell Nat but is stopped in her tracks when she learns that Nat is also expecting – thanks to their little experiment. So now, there’s two pregnancies for them to deal with: two lots of mood swings and cravings, two babies – and twice the chaos.
Tonight, Steph is beginning to panic about how much there is to do before the babies arrive while Nat is more focused on trying to find and enjoy the final moments of peace and quiet. A surprise baby shower turns into a disaster and leaves the flat feeling fractured.
