Limbo on ABC with Simon Baker – As Australia prepares to celebrate NAIDOC week, the ABC is proud to honour First Nations cultures and histories with a week of unmissable content including the highly-acclaimed outback noir film Limbo by Indigenous filmmaker Ivan Sen (Mystery Road, Goldstone), screening on Sunday 9 July at 8.30pm on ABC TV and ABC iview.
Starring an impressive Australian cast led by actor and director Simon Baker (The Menatalist, Breath) including Rob Collins (Total Control, Mystery Road) and Natasha Wanganeen (Rabbit Proof Fence, Cargo),Limbo is a poignant, intimate journey into the complexities of loss and the impact of the justice system on Aboriginal families in Australia.
Limbo tells the story of Travis (Baker), a jaded detective, who arrives in the remote outback town of Limbo to investigate the cold case murder of local Indigenous girl Charlotte Hayes 20 years ago. As truths about the murder begin to unfold, the detective gains a new insight into the unsolved case from the victim’s fractured family, the surviving witnesses and the reclusive brother of the chief suspect.
The film is written and directed by Ivan Sen. Produced by David Jowsey Rachel Higgins, Greer Simpkin and Ivan Sen.
