ABC NEWS returns in 2023 with breaking news, compelling stories and Australia’s best investigative journalism.

Start the week fully informed with ABC TV’s unbeatable Monday news and current affairs line-up.

From 8pm (starting Monday 27 February) Leigh Sales is back in a brand new role presenting Australian Story, fascinating stories about everyday Australians that entertain and inspire.

At 8.30pm from next Monday 30 January the Four Corners team delivers another year of fearless and forensic investigative journalism — fresh from winning Australian journalism’s top honour the 2022 Gold Walkley Award.

Q+A, Australia’s leading forum for public debate, returns to Mondays at 9.35pm, with host Stan Grant and thought leaders from home and abroad bringing unique perspectives to the audience’s questions.

Also from next Monday Sarah Ferguson returns as host of 7.30 alongside Chief Political Correspondent Laura Tingle.

Weeknights at 6pm The Drum brings thoughtful and challenging discussions, with Dan Bourchier and John Barron sharing host responsibilities with Ellen Fanning and Julia Baird.

From Thursday 16 February at 8pm Foreign Correspondent draws on the ABC’s unrivalled network of international correspondents to tell stories and meet people from the furthest corners of the earth.

On Fridays, keep up with the global superpowers on the ABC NEWS Channel. At 8pm Friday China Tonight, India Now!  and Planet America will be on rotation throughout the year, with an encore on Monday night on ABC TV after Q+A.

Every morning be the first to know the latest with our News Breakfast weekday team of Michael Rowland, Lisa Millar, Tony Armstrong (2022 Logie Award-winner for Best New Talent), Nate Byrne and Madeleine Morris and Weekend Breakfast hosts Johanna Nicholson and Fauziah Ibrahim.

Spend your Sunday mornings with Insiders, Australia’s most popular political affairs program. Weekly at 9am host David Speers and the panel have expert insights in national politics, including interviews with all the key players.

For all the latest news as it happens ABC NEWS Channel is the home of breaking news with live 24-hour coverage from Australia and around the globe. It is Australia’s most watched 24-hour news channel, available on broadcast and online. In 2022, ABC NEWS programming had a national weekly broadcast reach of 23.4% of Australians, averaging 2.0m weekly live or on-demand streams on ABC iview.

ABC NEWS continues to be Australia’s most trusted source of news.
