With the rising cost of living affecting Australians across the board and as the country deals with record debt and soaring energy costs, Treasurer Jim Chalmers’ inaugural budget, and Labor’s first in almost a decade will be challenging and highly scrutinised.

On ABC Radio from 6.30PM AEDT a special extended edition of PM, where David Lipson and a team of experts will delve into the detail of the Federal Budget and find out what it means for you and your family.
ABC NEWS digital will be helping audiences understand what the budget means for them with a live blog on Budget Night and the following morning answering the audiences’ questions, as well as an interactive Winners + Losers piece unpacking the budget announcement. The ABC will also broadcast Opposition Leader Peter Dutton’s Budget Reply speech at 7:30pm (AEDT) on Thursday, 27th October, followed by a special edition of 7.30 at 8pm, And Q+A will answer all your budget questions live in Canberra with Stan Grant, broadcasting from The Street Theatre. Joining the panel – Finance Minister Katy Gallagher, Shadow Minister for Finance Jane Hume and Independent Member for Fowler Dai Le.
