SBS and NITV receive 11 nominations for the 2025 AACTA Awards across factual, drama and entertainment

SBS and NITV receive 11 nominations for the 2025 AACTA Awards across factual, drama and entertainment – SBS and NITV have received 11 nominations for the 2025 AACTA Awards presented by Foxtel Group.

Bold factual programs such as Australia’s Sleep Revolution with Dr Michael Mosley, Ray Martin: The Last Goodbye, long-running series Who Do You Think You Are?, and the critically acclaimed true crime event The Jury: Death on the Staircaseare just some of the titles in the running next year alongside smash-hit survivalist series Alone Australia, SBS Original romantic drama series Four Years Laterand NITV children’s programs Eddie’s Lil Homies and Little J & Big Cuz. SBS Original drama series Swift Street gets a nod for Ntombi Moyo’s unique costume design, while the SBS Documentary Unit is up for its stunning cinematography in The Mission, and Mastermind Australia for its entertaining specialist subjects, both hosted by Marc Fennell.

To be held on the Gold Coast in February 2024, in recognition and celebration of Australia’s highest achievements in film and television, the AACTA Awards present over 50 awards across two major ceremonies. The peer assessed AACTA Awards are the only Australian industry body to honour practitioners across all crafts and industry sectors, including feature film, documentary, short film, television, online, visual effects and animation.

  • AACTA Award for Best Direction in Nonfiction Television – Tosca Looby, Ben Lawrence – THE JURY: DEATH ON THE STAIRCASE – Episode 1
  • AACTA Award for Best Documentary or Factual Program – AUSTRALIA’S SLEEP REVOLUTION WITH DR MICHAEL MOSLEY
