AACTA Audience Choice Awards Return for 2024 – The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) are excited to announce the return of the AACTA Audience Choice Awards for 2024. Voted on by the public, the winners are set to be announced on Saturday 11 February alongside the 2024 AACTA Awards presented by Foxtel Group, held at the Home of the Arts (HOTA) on the Gold Coast.

This year, AACTA went to social media and polled their audience to tell us the stars, productions, media personalities and digital creators they wanted to see in contention for the AACTA Audience Choice Awards. Thousands of responses poured in, determining the short-list for each award.

The Australian public is now invited to get involved and vote for their favourite films, actors, TV shows, sporting moment and digital creators in the AACTA Audience Choice Awards supported by News Corp. Voting can be done via news.com.au. The finalists in each category will be announced ahead of the Awards with the winners announced on Saturday 10 February, alongside the 2024 AACTA Awards Ceremony. Notable winners from 2022 include Kat Clark for Best Digital Creator, Heartbreak High for Best TV Series, Bryn Chapman Parish for Best Actor, Chloe Hayden for Best Actor, and Elvis for Best Film.

AACTA have revamped the Audience Choice Awards categories, renaming Best TV personality to Best Media Personality, acknowledging individuals with a wide-ranging presence across Australian platforms, including TV, podcasts, radio and social media. Additionally, a new category, the Audience Choice Award for Best Sporting Moment, has been introduced to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Australia’s top athletes and teams over the past year.

Voting is now open and will close at 5pm AEDT, 25 January 2024. The nominees will be announced on 4 February. The winners will be announced on Saturday, 10 February 2024.

The 2024 Award Categories are:

  • Favourite TV Show
  • Favourite Film
  • Favourite Actress
  • Favourite Actor
  • Favourite Australian Sporting Moment
  • Favourite Australian Media Personality
  • Favourite Australian Digital Creator
