9News Queensland to host leaders’ debate – 9News Queensland, the leading and most trusted news program for Queenslanders, will broadcast the all-important first Leaders’ Debate of the State election campaign, live from its Mount Coot-tha studios on Thursday, October 3, from 7.30pm AEST on Channel 9 and 9Now.

The one-hour debate will pit Labor Premier Steven Miles against Liberal National Party Leader David Crisafulli. As the election looms on Saturday, October 26, the debate offers voters a timely opportunity to hear the political leaders explaining their policies for the pressing issues at stake.

Nine Queensland will showcase the pivotal debate with an expert team delivering high-quality, analytical coverage.

9News Queensland’s Melissa Downes will steer the debate as the moderator, aiming for a dynamic and engaging exchange. There will be questions from the panel of 9News Queensland State Political Reporter Tim Arvier, 4BC Afternoons Presenter Sofie Formica, and Brisbane Times Editor Sean Parnell. Their collaboration and insight promises to extract crucial details from the two leaders and set the stage for the remainder of the election campaign.

As parliament adjourns for the election break, all eyes will turn to the campaign and this critical debate, which will provide voters with a clear view of Steven Miles and David Crisafulli’s vision for Queensland’s future.

Mark your calendar and turn to The Great Debate – Election 2024: Queensland Decides on Thursday, October 3, from 7.30pm AEST on Channel 9 and 9Now.
