Queensland’s Tourism Minister Michael Healy said it was fitting to honour the screen industry on the Gold Coast.

“Queensland is the country’s screen production capital and celebrating the industry’s best here is an honour. We are always looking to attract more production to Queensland and in turn, share our spectacular landscapes, culture and people with the world through the screen. We’re hoping viewers and attendees are so inspired by what they’ve seen of the Gold Coast, that they return for their next holiday.”

Queensland Minister for the Arts Leeanne Enoch said the AACTA Industry Awards offer important recognition for the remarkable skill and creativity of our country’s finest screen practitioners.

“The AACTA Industry Awards shine the spotlight on the talented people working tirelessly across productions, bringing their years of dedication and training to the fore, and highlighting their vital contributions to Australian dramas and documentaries.

“The Queensland Government through Screen Queensland is proud to support these awards as part of the inaugural AACTA Festival on the Gold Coast and we congratulate all of this year’s nominees and winners.”

“We are incredibly proud to be a destination of choice for film and television producers worldwide not just because of our natural assets, but also our world-class studios and importantly the depth of talent among our vast local network of skilled technicians and crews,”

said Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate.

“These industry creatives are the backbone of the film and television sector and are instrumental in creating the magic we see on screen. I congratulate all the winners and nominees at this year’s AACTA Industry Awards.”
