The Great House Revival on SBS – Architect Hugh Wallace follows the progress of six restoration projects across Ireland, as owners reclaim buildings on the brink of ruin, to create spaces which they hope will become their dream homes.
All over Ireland there are properties in need of serious repair and The Great House Revival champions the bravery of those willing to take them on. But restoring old buildings is never easy and the series charts the highs and lows of battling old buildings with limited budgets, tight timeframes and the relentless challenges which emerge on such complicated building projects.
Season Three, Episode One: Passage West, Co Cork
Tech professional Rob Hennessey fell in love with his bargain-price Victorian house on the banks of the Lee the moment he saw it. But with only the slimmest of budgets to patch up its holey floors and rotten joists, he must upskill fast and take on most of the restoration with his own two hands.
Over the course of two years, he meets new partner Katie and completes the project as an astonishingly high spec family home for her and new arrival, baby Caoimhe.
The Great House Revival – New Season Premiere – Monday, 26 June at 8.30pm on SBS and SBS on Demand (6 Parts)
