Tonight | Postcards on Channel 9 and 9Now (18 August) – Join the Postcards team this week as they head to “Block Island” – the new name for Phillip Island – to check out Shaynna Blaze’s favourite spots, at 5.30pm Sunday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
Guest presenter and longtime judge on The Block, Shaynna Blaze, shares her favourite spots on Phillip Island (Boonwurrung Country) while filming the show’s new season. First up is The Store, a cosy cafe and larder in Ventnor, just five minutes out of Cowes. Next, she heads to San Remo jetty to chat with Wildlife Coast Cruises’ Georgia Bisset about the best way to experience the island’s incredible marine life on their boat tours. Her day ends at wine bar Shearwaters & Bandicoots featuring a BYO meal from Nat’s Rustic Beach Feed.
Meanwhile, Lauren Phillips explores Malvern East (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Boonwurrung Country) after dark. Her first stop is local favourite cafe Mae, then, just five minutes away, she visits Rutherford’s Corner, with its cosy main bar and plus velvet lounge upstairs, offering a chic twist on the local pub.
Her night continues at Parkside Local, a new neighbourhood wine bar known for its delicious pizza and lively Tuesday Trivia night.
Madeline Spark takes in the rugged beauty of the Grampians, visiting hotspots in Halls Gap and Pomonal (Djabwurung Country). She checks into Grampians Under the Stars, a four-bedroom oasis with a heated jacuzzi – ideal for big groups. At Five Ducks Farm in Pomonal, she meets owners Anita Evans and Andy Cross, who have been cultivating fresh produce in the region for over eight years and sell their delicious goods at their farm gate. Her day ends with a rustic pub meal at Barney’s Bistro in the heart of Pomonal.
And this week Shane Delia dives into the rich diversity of Melbourne’s Indian food scene. His culinary journey begins at the beloved CBD spot on King Street, Delhi Rocks, an award-winning family restaurant known for its authentic flavours. In the backstreets of Fitzroy, he discovers Toddy Shop, where a short and simple menu delivers home-style South Indian and Kerala cuisine. He finishes his tour on Carlton’s Lygon Street at Bibi Ji, a vibrant new diner specialising in Indian street food.
