The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition on 10 Stephen And Bernard Curry Win – In an explosive grand finale under the shadow of Mount Merapi, Indonesia’s largest active volcano, our final three teams felt the heat as they competed in the final leg of The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition 2025.

After 15 gruelling legs of the race, brothers Stephen and Bernard Curry were the first team to land on the final Pit Stop mat, earning them the crown and $100,000 for their chosen charity, One In Five.

Standing in the grand finale alongside Rob Mills and Georgie Tunny, and Aesha Scott and Scott Dobson, the Curry brothers battled through the Javanese bullfighting ritual Kebo-Keboan, learned the ancient art of volcanic rock splitting, and perfected the Dance of a Thousand Hands.

The final challenge was a puzzle featuring symbols that had appeared at each of the prior pit stops that needed to be put in order. Though they arrived at the puzzle last, Stephen and Bernard made quick work of it, leapfrogging the other two teams and checking in at the final Pit Stop first, closely followed by Rob and Georgie as runners-up, and Aesha and Scott in third place.

Bernard said:

“Competing in The Amazing Race Australia has been, for my brother Steve and I, nothing short of a truly once in a lifetime experience.

“We came into it with open hearts and minds, and a competitive spirit of wanting to win for our charity, One In Five, but also wanting to play fair, enjoy every moment, become closer as brothers and mates, and make lasting friendships with all of the other wonderful contestants, while recognising the privileged position we were in, and always having gratitude for that.”

Stephen said:

“When my brother Bernie suggested that he and I compete on The Amazing Race Australia I said, ‘Don’t be ridiculous. There’s no way we could win that thing.’ Well- wouldn’t you know it; we did win the damn thing. I’m as surprised as everyone else.”

Stephen and Bernard have both been ambassadors of One In Five for more than 20 years. The organisation was established in memory of their friend, Matt Wardlaw, who died from suicide in 2001. One in Five raises funds and supports research into causes, treatments and cures for mental illness.

Stephen said:

“We are so proud to have won $100,000 for One In Five”.

Bernard said:

“Winning The Amazing Race Australia for One In Five has been one of the most gratifying achievements for us, but we also recognise that every charity that was being played for by other contestants is equally important, and we’re glad that the other contestants were able to bring some focus to their chosen charities. We will never forget the experience, and we have made lifelong friends out of it. What could be better than that?”
