What Are We Fighting For? on SBS and SBS on Demand – To protest against the Vietnam War and the conscription of young men to fight in it, resistance in South Australia, as in other states, came from many strands of the community.
From 1965 to 1972, many individuals put themselves at risk of arrest and gaol time by their refusal to support the Vietnam War.
In these firsthand accounts of people bravely and directly organising or participating in protest, we learn what prompted them to take action, what obstacles they faced and what they achieved.
