Maaka Pohatu (Wellington Paranormal) stars as Warren, a lovable suburban dad, who has an interdimensional vortex in his shed. He’s managed to keep it secret until the day of his daughter Lucy’s (Louise Jiang) 18th birthday, when she falls into it.
Warren follows and both are hurled into wildly different versions of their home, each more bizarre than the last. From a dystopian world of intelligent refrigerators, to a cardboard city, to a phone-zombie apocalypse, father and daughter stumble through each universe with mismatched skills, emotional baggage, but an ever-deepening bond.
Series One, Episode One: The Desolation of Smugg
On her 18th birthday, Lucy discovers a secret vortex in the family shed and is sucked into the year 2043, a desolate future where smart fridges rule the world. Warren follows her through the vortex and they reunite just in time to battle ice-blasting fridges.
Series One, Episode Two: Detatched From Reality
Warren and Lucy are thrown into a bizarre alternate version of their backyard, now the set of a dystopian reality TV competition called The Game. They must complete dangerous challenges: a blindfolded obstacle course, a poisoned room makeover, a grotesque eating contest, and a barbecue finale judged by Warren’s culinary heroes.
Contestants are eliminated—permanently—when they lose. As the stakes rise, Warren sacrifices his chance at victory so Lucy can survive.
