The Getaway on SBS Viceland and SBS on Demand – Remake of the 1972 Steve McQueen and Ali McGraw hit, remade with another real-life couple, Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger.
Thief Doc McCoy is thrown in prison for a robbery. Jack Benyon, a shady businessman, pulls a few favours to bail him out and in return Doc agrees to do Benyon’s next ‘hit’ at a dog track in Arizona.
When this robbery goes wrong, Doc and his wife take the loot and flee south for the border. Benyon and Doc’s double-crossing partner are soon to follow them across the desert, leading to a violent shoot-out finale.
